It has come to our attention that a former employee, Craig Carpenter, has been sending hateful and inappropriate messages via social media.

We want to make it absolutely clear that Craig Carpenter has not been employed by Capitol City Towing since August 2023, which was prior to our current ownership of the company.

The views and actions he is expressing do not reflect our values or standards, and we do not condone the content of these messages in any way.

Additionally, we are aware that our company name and branding appear in images on his profile. We are currently working with our legal team to address this misrepresentation.

Do not fall for online scams advertising towing. These are out of state companies marking our prices up 200+% and ripping customers off. 515-266-0110 is our number. Call us directly!

Local tow truck companies are falling prey to a widespread scam, leaving unsuspecting customers stranded and out of pocket.

We are experiencing a large increase in call volume and appreciate your patience as we work through all of this. Our staff is doing their best and we have most all of the fleet out and about. Call us and get your name added to our list and we will get to you as soon as possible.

With the temps we are expecting tomorrow we are anticipating an extremely busy day. We will do our best to help everyone as fast as possible but expect extended wait times. Also those whose vehicles break down and they are stranded in these freezing temps will be moved in front of those whose cars won’t start at home where they are safe and warm. Stay home if you can but if you do need us be nice to the crew you wouldn’t believe the way a select few customers treated our drivers over the past week. We can only do so much and it’s not our fault you are in the situation you are in. We are just trying to help.

Our trucks are staying on hard surface roads until secondary roads have been plowed except for 911 emergencies. In that case we have a fleet of plows (or snowmobiles) on stand by to ensure the tow trucks can reach you. For those who have not heard:

We are writing to inform you that Capitol City Towing is under new management as of 12/15/23. Central Iowa Towing has purchased the business and will be managing the business moving forward. We are really excited about this opportunity, and look forward to watching the company you’ve helped us grow over the years continue to grow and service the Des Moines Area.

From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank you for your continued and loyal service. You have helped us grow into the company we dreamed to be and we have the utmost confidence that Central Iowa Towing will continue the reputation and standing that we have established with your help over the last 10 years.

Central Iowa has retained all of the drivers and the trucks, and we have moved next door to continue our business adventures. You will continue to see familiar faces and trucks.
