URGENT: Help us tell Denver City Council that data centers cannot come at the expense of people's health. City Council meets this Monday, May 18, to vote on a one-year "pause" on the construction of new data centers. We need you to show up for The GrowHaus' home communities of Globeville, Elyria, and Swansea (GES) in North Denver, who have been fighting back against CoreSites DE3 data center, which is already under construction in Elyria.
Our partners at GES Coalition have drafted a comprehensive letter asking the council to use a one-year moratorium on new data center construction to create a strong, enforceable ordinance that protects communities, water, air, utility affordability, public health, civil liberties, and the grid. This hits close to home, as Coresite's DE3 data center plans to operate around the clock at the heart of the Elyria neighborhood, next to The GrowHaus' land, as well as longtime family homes, senior housing, and other critical community hubs.
As neighborhoods overburdened by historical and ongoing pollution and divestment, our GES community deserves accurate representation and respect from our city officials. Please read, sign, and share this letter far and wide: https://actionnetwork.org/letters/mass-surveillance-in-denver
