🚨 THIS IS EXACTLY WHY THE 7-DAY RULE NEEDS TO CHANGE.

We want to give a huge thank you to Sea of Green Army for the love they showed Hash Cab in this recent video. 💚🚖

Their experience highlights one of the biggest challenges facing Hash Cab. They wanted a Hash Cab. We wanted to give them a ride. We had to turn them down.

Not because we didn’t have the desire to serve them, but because Denver’s Department of Excise & Consumer Protection's regulations require Hash Cab rides to be scheduled 7 days in advance.

As more people discover Hash Cab, this is becoming less of a theoretical regulatory issue and more of a real public-facing problem.

People don’t always know where they’re going 7 days beforehand. Plans change. Events happen. Tourists arrive. People realize they want to consume cannabis, and desire to make the responsible decision not to drive.

Those are exactly the moments when safe transportation should be more accessible, not less.

Hash Cab was created to provide adults with a safe, compliant alternative to consuming cannabis and then getting behind the wheel. Yet under the current system, someone can discover our service, actively try to make the safer transportation choice, and still have to hear:

“Unfortunately, you needed to call us last week.”

We believe Denver can do better. We respect the purpose behind regulation, and Hash Cab will continue operating within every rule required of us. But we also believe regulations should evolve when technology, experience, and real-world evidence show there may be a safer and more effective way forward.

And now the public is beginning to experience this barrier firsthand.

Thank you again to Sea of Green Army for supporting Hash Cab even though we couldn’t accommodate the ride. 🙏 Your video helps put a real face on an issue we’ve been working hard to address.

Our goal isn’t fewer regulations. It’s smarter regulation that protects the public while allowing the public to make the safer choice when they actually need it.

Until then, we’ll keep following the rules, and we’ll keep advocating for change. 💯

Before the licenses. Before the retrofitted vehicle. Before the first passenger ever stepped inside a Hash Cab. Before “Safe Rides. Good Vibes.” became something you could actually experience…

There was a meeting. 📋

On August 2nd, 2018, just months after Hash Cab was officially incorporated, founder, Sam, sat down for Hash Cab’s first meeting with Colorado state transportation authorities.

At the time, Hash Cab was essentially still a sketch on paper and an idea without a roadmap.

There wasn’t an existing transportation model to simply copy. The concept raised questions about transportation law, cannabis law, passenger safety, vehicle requirements, licensing, and how something entirely new could potentially fit within Colorado’s existing regulatory ecosystem.

It was one of the first times Hash Cab began asking government regulators a question that would ultimately define much of the journey ahead:

“How do we do this the right way?”

We didn’t leave that room with every answer, but, we left with direction, and sometimes, when you’re trying to build something that hasn’t existed before, direction is enough to take the next step.

That meeting began laying the regulatory foundation for what Hash Cab could eventually become. From there came years of research, meetings, filings, legal challenges, licensing hurdles, engineering, inspections, setbacks, victories… and a whole lot of persistence.

8 years later, it’s pretty incredible looking at this picture knowing what was still ahead.

The Hash Cab sitting on Denver’s streets today was once nothing more than paperwork sitting on that table and an idea somebody believed was worth figuring out. 💚

And in many ways, we’re still doing exactly what we were doing that day:

Asking questions. Finding solutions. Working with regulators, and pushing toward a safer transportation model for the cannabis industry.

The difference is…

Now the Hash Cab is actually rolling 🚖💨

Big shoutout to Denver’s very own for showing Hash Cab some major love and featuring us in our FIRST-EVER music video appearance! 🙌

There’s something special about watching different pieces of Denver culture come together. From local music and artists to local businesses and new ideas being built right here in the Mile High City, we love seeing Denver support Denver. 💯

We’ve already had the honor of getting Tr3Fonc safely to the stage for his opening set for , and now he’s officially brought the Hash Cab along for the ride in his music. 🎶

For a company that only officially hit the streets a few months ago, seeing the HASHCAB plate on screen in a music video is one of those moments we’ll always remember. 😂🔥

Sometimes the right pair of shoes can be the first step towards something bigger 🙌

Last night, Hash Cab had the privilege of attending the Gala — “Where the Shoe Fits,” and we walked away genuinely inspired by what and SweetFeet are building for the next generation.

On the surface, the mission may look like giving children a brand-new pair of shoes, but when you learn the story behind SweetFeet, you realize those shoes represent something much bigger.

They represent confidence, dignity, opportunity, responsibility, and the feeling that somebody in your community believes in you.

Arzelle “Shoeman” Lewis knows personally how something as simple as the shoes on a child’s feet can affect their confidence and the decisions they make. He turned an experience from his own childhood into a mission centered around making sure other kids have an opportunity to step in the right direction.

And the impact is incredible.

SweetFeet reports having provided more than 26,000+ pairs of brand-new sneakers to kids, while also reaching young people through educational workshops, financial literacy and programs designed to prepare them for future success.

Arzelle’s ultimate vision? ONE MILLION kids. ONE MILLION pairs of shoes. 👟👟👟

That’s the kind of vision Hash Cab has tremendous respect for. Success shouldn’t only be measured by how large a company becomes, but by how many people are better off because it existed.

Arzelle, thank you for welcoming Hash Cab, and more importantly, thank you for continuing to dream BIG for Denver’s children. What you’ve built is bigger than sneakers.

You’re showing young people that their circumstances today don’t have to determine where they walk tomorrow. ➡️🌎

This one feels different. 💚

When Hash Cab officially launched, we weren’t just introducing a new ride service, we were introducing an entirely new idea for what safe, compliant cannabis-friendly transportation could look like.

And now, just a few months into this journey, 1,000 of you are riding along with us. 🙌

Every follow, share, comment, conversation, ride, introduction and word of encouragement has helped take Hash Cab from a concept years in the making to a growing community with a very real mission:

Give adults a safe alternative to consuming cannabis and driving.

We know 1,000 followers may just look like a number on Instagram, but to us, it represents 1,000 people who have chosen to pay attention to what we’re building. That’s something we don’t take for granted.

We’ve celebrated 100… 200… 300… all the way through 900 — and every milestone has reminded us that this community continues to grow right alongside Hash Cab.

But 1,000? That deserves a BIG celebration. 🥳🏆

We still have regulations to challenge.
Technology to evolve.
Vehicles to add.
Partnerships to create.

HASH CAB IS OFFICIALLY IN THE DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL! 🚖📰

The official Denver Business Journal story is live, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the way they captured our story, our mission, the hurdles we’re working to overcome, and the vision for where Hash Cab is headed next. 🌿

From an idea that began years ago to becoming a fully licensed cannabis-friendly transportation company operating on the streets of Denver, this journey has required patience, persistence, and a whole lot of belief in one simple mission:

Creating a compliant, convenient, and affordable transportation option for cannabis consumers.
