Air Tours Colorado See Colorado from a whole new perspective! Get closer to the mountains, find your next hiking, bikin Hello,

My name is Eric VanKirk.

I have been blessed to take to the skies since 2005 when I earned my private pilot certificate in Fort Myers, FL. Most people refer to it as a pilot’s license, but it's actually a certificate. I immediately began flying for the Sundowners, a nonprofit, pilot run organization whose primary mission is to work with the coast guard in searching for distressed boats off the coast. This was a wonderful

way to donate my time to help others, as well as seeing some of the most beautiful sunsets from the sky. I began flying sightseeing groups either to Key West, or to Everglade City where we would have lunch and enjoy an airboat ride through the Florida Everglades, checking out the local wildlife population, often spotting many alligators and crocodiles. I also had the opportunity to watch the shuttle take off, from 10 miles away and flying at 7,500 feet. I would like to continue these flights now that I have am back in Colorado. I am not a commercial pilot, something I have no intention of becoming, and therefore am not allowed to charge a fee for my services, so I offer them for free. I do this to give as many people as possible the ability to experience what I have fallen in love with, seeing this beautiful land from the air, at an extremely affordable price. Whether you would like to see downtown Denver, the front range, spend the night camping at a remote airstrip, or perhaps fly to Wyoming, I will be happy to work with you to make that experience happen, and create lasting memories to reflect upon for the rest of your life.

Today was my first ride for my annual ride to help raise money and awareness for the fight against Children's Cancer. So many of us are so blessed that we don't know and will never know the struggle families have to go through, the hardships they endure, and the pain they suffer everyday, doing their best to hide their own pain and suffering while they do their best to ease the pain and suffering of a child, a child who should be making play dates instead of chemotherapy dates. A child that entered this world innocent, whose innocence has been needlessly stripped away, and should never have to suffer the way they are, now only knows constant treatments, testing, and pain. Please help me to raise awareness and money to support the fight against Children's Cancer. If you can give a dollar then please give a dollar. Every single donation is hope they did not have before. Together we can help support those that are fighting everyday to find answers to these terrible diseases that needlessly ruin lives and steal the innocence from children. Please share this message and donate what you can. Thank you for everyone who supports this effort to fight a battle they cannot fight alone.

Today I reached my goal of riding 200 miles to help raise money to fight Children's Cancer. I have not yet reached my fundraising goal, but there is still time to donate, so please do if you can. Thank you for everyone who has supported this journey. It is far from over as these children must fight every day. Please give whatever you can, whenever you can, to your favorite charity, group, or person suffering. The smallest gesture from you can mean so much to another. Thank you again for all those who have supported me and this cause.

Three days and forty miles left to go. We're still short of our fundraising goal, but I want to thank everyone who has contributed thus far. You are greatly appreciated in this fight to end children's cancer. It won't stop overnight, and probably not for a long time, but every little bit does help, and it helps the most vulnerable among us. Thank you again.

Over halfway of my pledged miles, but still a ways to go to reach my fundraising goal. Thank you to all who have donated so far. Whatever you can donate is greatly appreciated and gives a better chance to help children who are unnecessarily suffering. Please donate and help give them a life free of pain and suffering. Thank you.

Today was my first day riding toward my 200 mile pledge to help the fight against children’s cancer. Thank you to all who have donated thus far and, though we have reached our fundraising goal, there is no reason we cannot go well above that.

As I rode today I realized I got started a little late. The temperature had already reached 94° with a heat index of 104°. After about ten minutes of riding I seriously thought about turning around and riding tomorrow. And then I thought about all the children who don’t have that choice. The start of their journey was chosen for them, and quitting is not an option. They cannot simply decide that today is not the day. As I rode on, knowing the heat was taking my strength and the humidity was making it harder and harder to breathe, I knew that soon I would be back home, recovering, with this ride behind me, and the choice of whether or not to continue tomorrow was solely up to me. A luxury these children do not share. Suffering is not a choice for them, it is a way of life. Please join me in helping to give them a life of joy, and free of pain and suffering.

I keep these innocent kids in my thoughts as I ride, and no matter what obstacles are put in front of me, they pale in comparison to the obstacles these warriors face on a daily basis. Thank you to all who do what they can to help others.

In three days I will start my ride to support the fight against children’s cancer. I had hoped that I would be back home in Denver by this time and be able to ride my road bike. Alas I am still in Texas and will be completing this challenge on my mountain bike, which of course I brought to Texas instead of the road bike. I do miss my girlfriend and, most unfortunately, our anniversary, my friends, and the beautiful mountains. It has not been without some reward that I have not been able to go home. I have had the opportunity to spend this time with my Mom, Dad, Sister, Nephew, and Brother-in-Law. They are wonderful people to whom I must credit much of my happiness and outlook throughout my life. My parents keep me young and my nephew tells me I am old. It is this kind of family that reminds me why I am riding to support the fight for these kids, who are already in a daily fight for their lives. Helping them to have a life like I have had, surrounded by those who love you, care for you, and will do anything they can for you. I know we are in a struggle with a virus we do not yet fully understand and for which we have no vaccine. Imagine all the children being born into this, and then telling too many them they must also fight for their lives against something we have been researching for decades and yet to find a cure. Please join me in fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves. Thank you to all who do what they can to help others.
