About 30 minutes after applying the stripper from 3Chem, the paint was already releasing from the surface. But that’s just the beginning.

The chemical does the heavy lifting, but the real work is protecting sensitive areas, monitoring the process, scraping, cleaning, inspecting the substrate, and getting the aircraft ready for the next phase.

After hours of layout, masking, back taping, painting stripes, and spraying the N-number, we finally get to pull the paper and see it all come together.

Aircraft stripping starts long before the chemical ever touches the paint.

Every windshield, opening, seam, and sensitive area has to be protected before the first coat of stripper is applied.
This Cessna 182 was ready to let go of its old paint, and watching the coatings release never gets old.

Registration layout in progress on this PC-12. ✈️
Transfer paper, alignment, spacing, and positioning before the masking and paint process begins. Which way do you prefer?

1️⃣ Install the entire registration as one piece.

2️⃣ Install each letter and number individually.

This PC-12 required washing, conversion coating, epoxy primer, composite prep, multiple layout phases, curing time between colors, and days of masking before the final design started coming together.

Some phases can’t be rushed. Clear has to cure. Composites have to be right. Layouts have to be accurate.
