Today I had the opportunity to learn about the Church of Corinth, one of the most important churches established by the Apostle Paul during his missionary journeys.
Corinth was a bustling Roman city known for its wealth, trade, and diverse population. It was also a city filled with moral and spiritual challenges. Despite this, Paul spent about 18 months here preaching the Gospel, teaching new believers, and building a strong Christian community.
What struck me most was learning that Paul worked as a tentmaker while ministering in Corinth. He faithfully shared God’s message while supporting himself through his trade. Through his perseverance and God’s guidance, many people came to faith in Christ, and the Church of Corinth was born.
Paul later wrote the letters of 1 and 2 Corinthians to encourage, correct, and strengthen these believers. Those letters continue to teach Christians today about faith, unity, love, and the hope we have through Jesus Christ.
Standing where Paul once walked made the Bible feel very real. It was a powerful reminder that God can build His Church anywhere and use ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things for His kingdom.
