As the seasons change so does everything on the river. We've been seeing some incredible sites out on the river lately.

Now last year we thought it was a one in a million sighting. Then on the last tour of this calendar year we saw Another Monkey on the St John's. We really hope Orange City DeLand and DeBary are prepared for more monkey sightings. Just another one of the few and sometimes interesting things that you can actually see on the St Johns River.

A male Barred Owl (Strix varia) photographed from a St. John's River Eco Tours boat near DeBary, Florida.

The people on the tour with me were ecstatic when we came upon a pair of Barred Owls. I moved around the boat looking for an uncluttered view and was able to get the male staring back at me.

The St. Johns River Eco Tours runs two tours every day at 10am and 1pm. Private small boat tours are available for up to 5 people which focus on photography. For more details check out their FaceBook page.
