UPDATE 1:40 p.m.
CDOT has OPENED WB I-70 at Beaver Brook (Exit 248) and US 6 between I-70 and CO 119 following clean-up of the rockslide. Thank you to all motorists for your patience, and for avoiding WB I-70 during the closure. Please drive with caution, and delay travel until the storm passes if possible.

UPDATE 11:30 a.m.
I-70 WB at Beaver Brook east of Idaho Springs is expected to re-open mid-afternoon following a rockslide this morning. Crews are making good progress in cleaning up the site.

——————————————————————
UPDATE 10 a.m.
US 6 is now closed between I-70 and CO 119 to keep motorists safe and away from the rockslide area. The closure point along westbound I-70 remains in place at Beaver Brook (exit 248).
Crews are beginning work to remove the rocks and debris. Please continue to avoid westbound I-70 into the mountains.

AVOID WB I-70 DUE TO ROCKSLIDE:
Westbound I-70 is closed at Beaver Brook (Exit 248) due to a rockslide that has pushed into a lane of traffic.
The best alternate route at this time is to avoid WB I-70 and take US 285 instead. This closure will be prolonged as crews work to remove the rocks and fix the barrier. We will continue to update on progress.
