HEADS UP, THIS IS A LONG STORY
VIDEO IN COMMENTS.
Be Warned when in Ogallala.
Ok friends, as some of you know, the Huntress went down in Ogallala, NE last month, thus making Cindy hang out for over two weeks while I went on with the load to Indy. She just made a post about it being 10, 000 miles since the new motor has been installed.
We just finished a load to Florida, and we're headed back to the house when I noticed smoke coming out from under her truck in Collins, MS.
So I tell her to pull it over soonest place she finds. I check the truck out to find oil all over the bottom of the undercarriage. 🤯
After further inspection, we found the engine oil was full. However, I found that the transmission cooler lines which are SUPPOSED to be secured to the side of the oil pan were leaking due to the mounting bracket on the lines being bent so much it compromised the integrity and caused them to leak. 270 miles from the house.
We have it at a Chevy dealership right here, and are going to be there first thing tomorrow morning to have them replace those lines PROPERLY.
Wolf Chevrolet Gmc of Ogallala is going to be receiving a phone call that will be professional, but also REALLY ugly!
Another note, we had gotten the oil changed in Ardmore OK Jiffy L**e and the guys there were great and extremely helpful as when we checked the transmission fluid(which we had thought was full after the motor replacement) and found it to be low. I had to go to AutoZone TWICE to buy enough to top it off. They also commented on how clean the underside of the truck was. So it wasn't leaking then.
But how can a shop not make sure the transmission is properly filled after replacing the motor?
