June is Airport Worker Appreciation Month! We're kicking things off by spotlighting the incredible people who work behind the scenes to make every trip through DAY possible. First up: Rylee Doyle, Airport Operations Duty Supervisor. 👋
We asked Rylee some questions to learn more about what her days (and nights) at DAY really look like, and what keeps her loving the job. Here's what she had to say.
What brings you joy about working at DAY? "I enjoy helping connect our community to the world. Every day in airport operations is different, keeping my job interesting, but the mission remains the same. Being behind the scenes ensuring safe and efficient travels will always be the highlight of my job."
What would surprise people about your job? "Airport Operations is around the clock. We respond to everything from wildlife on the runways, to severe weather events, and even aircraft emergencies. We communicate with Air Traffic Control and others to ensure our customers can fly Easy to and through."
Window or aisle seat? "Window of course! Watching takeoff and landing from the ground during my day to day makes watching takeoff and landing from the window seat in the sky that much cooler! I get to see our daily operations at a bird's-eye view!"
Thank you, Rylee. DAY is lucky to have you. 💙
Now we want to hear from you: window or aisle? Drop it in the comments. 👇
