PLEASE READ AND SHARE......Last season starting around the 1st. Of June,.....we started a once daily " BASKET GIVE AWAY " I'm pleased to say, we have been blessed with a wonderful season, and starting tomorrow and lasting until June 30th. We will be giving away a basket of choice, ( DAILY). Here's the way it works, for every $10.00 you spend at (The Shady Side Market) you will receive a ticket that enters you into the daily drawing. 1 ticket =1 chance, 10 tickets =10 chances. At the end of the day, (every day) a winner will be drawn and announced on Facebook. Terry took Java for his morning walk this morning like every other morning but today it turned into a morning run.He escaped Terry's grip on the lead and it became free range.He ran circles around us and would not let us catch him until he got so tired he had to take a break. I think you can say he loved it.

Update on baby Java.We spent a few hours at the Animal Hospital yesterday with him.He is having some major problems going on with his bathroom habits.It seems to be passing straight thru him.We have started him on meds to prevent dehydration as well as an antibiotic as there seems to be a touch of infection but has been caught early.He did not eat well last night but today he is back to his every three hour feedings and he is consuming all of it. His formula has been changed so we are praying that he will recuperate from this quickly.He isn't playing as much today as he normally has been but his sleeping is what's good for him at this time.Prayers all goes well is appreciated

So today begins day 4 of baby Java's journey, and I have to say, ( so far ) things are going as good as could be expected. He's eating milk replacement on a schedule of every 3 hours now, (it started on a 2hour schedule) , and completely wearing Joyce and myself out. Our friend Sarah's stable and riding academy, A Broken Spur Riding Academy out on Ellison Ridge road, has became our new home away from home, and Susie, Asher, Jayden, and John have been keeping things running Smoothly at Shady Side. A big shout out of appreciation goes out to our help at Shady Side, and all the folks at the barn who have been helping us keep this little guy alive. Mostly I thank God, who has placed this little guy in our care, and has givin us the strength and has aligned everything in place that allows us to devote all this time to his care. Also thank you everyone for your interest, your prayers, and your patience, as I realize we have not been as focused on the Market as we should be. Joyce, myself and all of our help will be striving to juggle this crazy schedule to continue to bring you quality service and produce/flowers in the upcoming weeks to follow. THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR INTEREST.

Happy Memorial Day everyone.Just a reminder that tomorrow (Monday) we will only be open from 9 A.M until 2 P.M for Memorial Day so be sure and pick up all of your holiday goodies and remember we still have lots of beautiful plants in the greenhouse.As always thanks for sharing our post.

Baby Java is 3 days old today and has changed so very much over the last 3 days.He started as a little orphaned baby who doesn't really know that he is a baby mule but things he is a person. He cried the first two days every time that I got out of his site.This is hard to believe and if Terry and I had not experienced it we would not believed it ourself.We got cold in the stables and went to the car to get warm making sure the stable door was locked before we went out.We were not out there 10 minutes and I looked up and here was Java standing out in the rain just looking around hunting for us.He actually at 2 days old jumped out the stall feeding windows and came hunting for us.That windows is 3 feet off the ground.Who would have thought that possible.Today at 3 days old he is so full of himself bouncing and kicking that we had to move our chairs out of the stull for our own safety.Still feeding every 2 hours and getting very little sleep.He is drinking from a bucket so at least we are not having to make bottles.Its going to be a long few months.He had lots of company today and lovins as well.
