SHADY SIDE MARKET....located at 2199 Ritter Drive Daniel's Wv.......Is definitely back on the move, from last night til late tonight, We've been bringing it in. From Watermelons ( both seedless red and yellow) to Pumpkins and guards if all colors. TENNESSEE TOMATOES, yes, canning tomatoes, yes, Amish Canteloupes, yes. Peppers, Squash, Beets,, Pickling cukes, BEAUTIFUL PEACHES, from Fancy Gap Virginia, Nice hard, solid, cabbage from the Amish Country.....Also coming in tonight is Sour Kraut, and Hot sour Kraut coming from our Pickled Corn lady in Coburn Va. ......We've brought in just a few Mums already, but next week, the flood gates will open and you'll see mums galore. I know they've been working for 2 days on the water lines, but I think tomorrow things will be better, so stop in and see us......as always, Thanks for reading and looking at our pics, Please share.

Went to the Amish Country in Ohio last eve to get produce , pumpkins and mums today but basically their were no mums.What we found was diesel fuel costing us $5.91 a gallon.The cheapest we found was $5.39 per gallon but we didn't need fuel at that time.Coming to Ohio has cost us $440 in fuel and tomorrow we will be up on the Ohio River getting corn and halfrunner beans.That will be probably another $200.
We will be dropping them off at the market and leaving to go to Tennessee and get those delicious tomatoes that we all love.That will be another $450 in fuel. NOT JUST COMPLAINIG SIMPLY EXPLAINING.

Just a ( not so quick )post to give everyone an update. BUT WORTH THE READ.

We're currently in the Amish country seeing what we can find to bring in tonight. Tomorrow I'll go up on the river for fresh picked corn and beans, Soon as I get back, we'll unload, Carl will jump in the truck, and go to Tennessee after tomatoes. (We've let everything get Low, due to State Fair, and kids going back to School) but that's behind us, We're back in the saddle, or (truck seat) I suppose, hoping to bring in some Mums tonight. ALSO, apples will be coming soon, AS OF NOW, looks like September the 4th or 5th we'll have New York apples. THANKS FOR HANGING IN AND FINISHING THIS POST. Please Share.

Fresh produce is here and waiting for you.Just an update on the Amish baked goods.They are usually at the Shady Side Market on Friday's between 11 and 12 BUT this week it will not be in until about 5 p.m.This past Friday I ordered 200 fry pies and by Monday afternoon they were all gone. If you haven't got to try them yet you don't know what you are missing.Thanks for sharing my post and have a blessed day

Remember every Friday we get our Amish baked goods in and as you can see the LEMON FRY PIE is my very favorite of all the varieties that we carry.The granola comes in several varieties and it's pretty tasty in cereal and oatmeal However Terry thinks it's pretty good right out of a spoon.If you haven't tried any of our baked goods come in and give it a shot.

Fresh produce came in again today and more Tennessee tomatoes will be coming in tonight after hours.We have only 5 bags of canning beets left.They are in 25 .lb bags and they are $28.We have 10 1/2 bushels of Halfrunner beans and they are $32 per box. We have 25 boxes of canning tomatoes and they are $23. Lastly we have Pickling Cucumbers in 1/2 Bushel boxes and they are $28 per box.HAPPY CANNING.
