Yacht broker Bryan Soulie shares his insight on updating the linen program aboard yachts, specifically the production boats that come with a certain stock finish at the factory-level.

Bryan’s focus on a specific range of yachts has afforded him key insights on this aspect, chief amongst which is the value of making smart upgrades that will in turn bump up his client’s yacht into the custom yacht level.

Proper Linen care, especially at sea, can easily be overlooked amidst the hustle and bustle of life aboard a yacht. Don’t worry, we got you.

Based on what we’ve experienced, these are the 6 common mistakes most of us do that ruin linens fast.

Washing everything on hot 🔥.
Believe it or not, this does happen 😅. We don’t know why, but it’s a thing. Heat is the fastest way to break down fine linen fibers.

To bleach or not to bleach ⚪️
Sometimes, this has the opposite effect, because unbeknownst to us mere mortals, even most gentle whitening detergents often contain optical brightners.

DON’T set it and forget it.
Pro tip: pull linens slightly damp when possible.

Soft, with a cost.
Natural fibers prefer going uncoated most of the time.

Bad linen storage 💧
Humidity and sealed storage, especially at sea, is just a bad mix. Let linens breathe.

Speaking of exposure…
Salt residue from the sea air transfers between fabrics. So, treat them differently.

With a charming interior designed by Donald Starkey, this luxurious 154-foot tri-deck was the perfect template to let our creativity loose.

There’s a charm to chaos that often goes unseen, because of course, the finished product is the goal. But somehow, this is where we find ourselves most creative.

We agree on many things, even on which green accent piece or bed sheets would work with some of our projects. But apparently not on matcha 😅.

But now we are curious.
Where do you land on this?

07/31/2026

We’ve worked on many cool projects, but this was one of the coolest (it’s like asking about having a favorite child 😅).

07/30/2026

We do what we gotta do.

It’s not always pretty behind the scenes. Well, that’s pretty much known. But this is everyday for us, and to be honest, we love it.

Don’t let that easy custom linen install on that 82’ Azimut fool you though, it’s not always like that 😅.

We love a good pillow, especially when they look good, but also are functional.

These were a great addition to the new 82’ Azimut’s interior, in which we also executed a fresh custom bedding linen fitting.

P.S.
No pillows were harmed during the making of this film 😅

LOOM on board: 131-foot Sunseeker.

Acacia’s owners wanted us to help create a floating oasis of calm to take a break from the world. Additionally, in true Sunseeker fashion, ACACIA’s interior structure was built for an almost procession-like experience.

So maintaining its sense of vastness while giving each area its own sense of space was crucial.

To maintain the alliance between style and performance, we went with a contemporary modern luxurious design approach.

We wanted to facilitate the transition from one area to the other by implementing common connecting textures between them.

Made the cut.

Every fabric on our rack gets narrowed down before it earns a spot on a boat. Indoors, salt spray usually isn’t the real threat, humidity is.

Yacht interiors run humid year-round, so weight, weave, and mildew resistance get weighed as carefully as color. This beautiful deep rouge wool made the cut.

A weight and color like this tends to ground a room rather than compete with it, think a stateroom accent chair, library shelving, or a runner across a neutral sofa.

Pro tip:
Pairs well against camel leather, warm ivory boucle, or a deep navy for contrast.
