There isn't a stretch of water right now, even after the storm battered it all, that isn't capable of showing us it's not over.

This striped marlin was caught yesterday aboard the Sum Fun in on the beach, in one of those stretches of water.

Nice work Capt Chase and crew and the Dan Harano 🤙 with the flashabou does it again!

Monday morning memory 🩵 A little Disney magic from the Dana Wharf archives! 🎣✨

On August 31, 1994, Disney chartered the Sum Fun with Captain Todd Mansur and created this special Mickey Mouse “Sum Fun” T-shirt for every person on their charter. They also gave shirts to Captain Todd, Mike Hansen, and members of the crew.

We’ve had this T-shirt hanging in a frame since 1994—a treasured piece of Dana Wharf Sportfishing history and a reminder of a special day on the water.

With gratitude to the late Barton K. “Bo” Boyd, then president of Disney Consumer Products, for creating this remarkable piece. More than three decades later, we’re proud to share this memory and honor his part in our story. 💙

From the classroom to the coastline!

🎣 We’re excited to share the joy of fishing with the kids in our after-school fishing camp with the City of San Clemente.

Hats off to the parents for signing their kids up for some time on the water, new skills, and plenty of fish stories! 🐟

Hey what's the Fury Sportfishing been up to?

Here's a few pics from some of their trips over the last week or so.

As conditions keep changing they've been adapting and fishing in zones that best fits the scope of their trip. Some days it's been further offshore and other days it's been more close to home with the all day fleet.

Keep an eye out for a few more open party trips for their month of October and jump in any open spot they may still have available.

Before he was captain of the Clemente, Chad Steffen had his first fishing experience at Dana Wharf Sportfishing & Whale Watching, right here on the docks! 🎣

As we get ready to move into the trailers, come down for one last look at our iconic storefront and shop T-shirts, hats, sweatshirts, and more!

We’ll be open throughout the entire renovation process, operating out of the trailers, and we’re excited to return to the spot where Don Hansen started it all 55 years ago once renovations are complete.

We've been working real hard to keep the offshore species in our fish counts. We've seen some better tuna on kelps over the last week but there has been a lot of water moving around and in turn the kelps have been moving through our area rapidly. We've had to cover a lot of water to make our catches the last two days. Stay tuned because we believe this is far from over.
