🚨 Amazon is tightening its Commercial Liability Insurance requirements

Starting November 2, 2026, new insurance requirements will apply to certain Amazon sellers.

What should sellers know?
🔹 Insurance may be required regardless of sales volume.
If you sell products in categories with enhanced safety requirements, such as children’s products, cosmetics, ingestible products, or lithium battery products - you’ll need at least $1 million in commercial liability coverage, even if your monthly sales are below $10,000.
🔹 New rules for sellers based in Mainland China.
New insurance policies submitted after November 2 must be obtained through Amazon Insurance Accelerator (AIA).

🚚Amazon is already recommending sellers send their holiday inventory in August and September to reduce the risk of transportation and receiving delays during the Q4 peak season. But sending inventory early doesn’t necessarily mean sending all of it directly to FBA.

The real question is: how much inventory do you actually need at Amazon - and where should you keep the rest?

Amazon has announced its Holiday 2026 planning timeline - and one thing stands out: the deadlines are earlier.

While most fees and eligibility requirements remain unchanged, sellers need to prepare their inventory sooner if they want to maximize Q4 sales.

Here are the key takeaways:

📦 Inbound inventory deadlines have moved up
To maintain Prime eligibility during Prime Big Deal Days, Black Friday Week, and Cyber Monday, inventory must arrive at Amazon fulfillment centers by the published September and October deadlines.

💰 Holiday fulfillment fees return
From October 15, 2026, through January 14, 2027, Holiday Peak Fulfillment Fees will apply again, averaging $0.32 per unit, in addition to the existing 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge.

🏷️ Deal fees remain unchanged
Best Deals, Lightning Deals, and Prime Exclusive Price Discounts keep the same pricing structure:
• $100 upfront fee
• 1.5% of promotional sales (capped at $5,000)

🚚 Send inventory earlier
Amazon has made it clear: fulfillment centers focus on receiving inventory in September and October before shifting their priority to customer orders in November and December. Waiting until the last minute may result in lower capacity availability and delayed inventory placement.

🚨 Amazon is changing product title requirements📅

Starting July 27, 2026, Amazon will require product titles in all categories except media to be 75 characters or less, including spaces ✂️

Why does this matter?
📱 Amazon says the change is designed to improve the mobile shopping experience, ensuring titles display properly across devices.

To compensate for shorter titles, sellers will be able to use Item Highlights ✨, a new field that provides up to 125 additional characters for key product details, materials, and use cases.

🤖 Amazon is also introducing AI-powered recommendations to help sellers optimize titles and Item Highlights according to the new requirements.

⚠️ Sellers should review their listings before July 27.
If a title still exceeds 75 characters after the deadline, Amazon may gradually replace it with an AI-generated recommendation.

Amazon will provide a 14-day review period before implementing AI-generated changes. During this time, brands will be able to review, edit, approve, or reject the proposed title and Item Highlights updates.

The goal is simple: provide customers with more accurate delivery promises and improve the overall shopping experience.

According to Amazon, more than 87% of seller-fulfilled orders in the US are already shipped within one day, yet many sellers still use handling times that are longer than their actual processing speed. As a result, customers may see delivery estimates that are slower than necessary.

Amazon also reports that every one-day improvement in promised delivery time can lead to an average 5% increase in sales, highlighting the direct impact fulfillment performance can have on conversion rates.

📊 Starting June 29, Amazon will place greater emphasis on ensuring that configured handling times match actual shipping performance. Sellers who consistently ship orders faster than their stated handling time may have those settings reviewed or adjusted to better reflect actual fulfillment speed.

⏱️ Many sellers intentionally set longer handling times to create a buffer for operational delays, weekends, staffing fluctuations, inventory transfers, or unexpected order spikes. However, Amazon's goal is to ensure that delivery promises more accurately reflect real fulfillment capabilities, helping customers receive more reliable delivery estimates.
