📦 Global logistics update for e-commerce sellers (2026)

We are not seeing a logistics collapse. But we are seeing something just as important: 👉 the system is becoming less predictable.

🌏 China → USA shipping
International shipments are still moving normally. However, occasional 1-3 week delays can still happen due to:
• customs checks
• carrier capacity
• product/category risk
• routing congestion

Nothing is fully disrupted - but the system is clearly less stable than before.
⚠️ And this is important: Delays are likely to increase closer to Q4, when peak season pressure kicks in.
📈 Shipping rates also remain unstable, with a general trend toward higher costs - especially for faster services.

🇺🇸 US domestic logistics
We are also seeing ongoing delays across UPS, USPS, and FedEx.
📉 UPS is actively reducing its Amazon volume and restructuring parts of its network, including hub optimization and operational changes. This can create temporary slowdowns in certain regions.
📮 USPS is still undergoing a major transformation, changing its entire delivery structure. The result:
• inconsistent delivery times
• slower processing in some areas
• reduced tracking reliability in certain cases
🚚 At the same time, Amazon is aggressively expanding its own logistics network - positioning itself as a direct competitor to UPS and USPS and reshaping last-mile delivery in the US.

📌 What this means for sellers
• delivery times are less predictable
• delays (both international and domestic) will happen
• Q4 planning is more critical than ever
• stockouts are becoming a real risk again
📦 Inventory buffer is no longer optional - it’s a risk management tool.

Many sellers are now moving toward:
• earlier replenishment cycles
• split shipments (air + sea)
• US-based 3PL storage for safety stock

💡 If you're scaling your Amazon or e-commerce operations and want to reduce risk from delays and stockouts, having reliable US-based 3PL storage is becoming a key advantage.

At PETANI Logistics, we help brands keep inventory closer to customers, improve delivery stability, and protect sales during peak volatility periods - without overcomplicating their supply chain.

🚨 Amazon expands Partnered Carrier Program for Hazmat 🚨

📅 Starting April 30, 2026, Amazon is significantly expanding its Partnered Carrier Program in the US. This is a major update for FBA sellers dealing with regulated products! 🇺🇸📦

Previously limited to specific lithium battery shipments, the program now covers all FBA-eligible dangerous goods (hazmat). ⚠️ This change applies to:
🚛 Small parcel
🚚 LTL (Less Than Truckload)
🚛 FTL (Full Truckload)

💡 Why this matters:
✅ Simplified Logistics: No more coordinating with multiple specialized carriers.
✅ Unified Workflow: You can now combine hazmat and non-hazmat inventory in the same "Send to Amazon" workflow. 🔄
✅ Cost Efficiency: Access to Amazon’s partnered rates for regulated goods. 💰

🚀 As Amazon continues to streamline inbound logistics, having a reliable infrastructure on the ground is more important than ever.

🏢 At our warehouse, we stay ahead of these changes to keep your supply chain moving. We offer highly flexible storage solutions for your inventory—including the capacity to handle specific hazmat categories—ensuring your goods are ready for pickup the moment you book your carrier. ⚡📦

📩 Need a flexible warehouse partner in the US, Canada, Germany or the UK? Let’s connect and optimize your FBA inbound strategy! 🤝🤝

📣 Prime Day 2026: Amazon is shifting timelines and logistics is becoming the key factor

Amazon has confirmed: Prime Day 2026 will take place in June 📅, moving away from its traditional July timing.

Last year, Prime Day became the biggest in history - customers saved billions, and sellers broke their own sales records 📈.
But this year, the main question is no longer just “how much you sell”, but “whether your products will actually make it into the event”.

Amazon has already set strict promotional deadlines. Lightning Deals ⚡, Best Deals 🔥, and Prime Exclusive Price Discounts must be scheduled by May 26, 2026. If submitted by April 30, sellers also receive a $50 discount on the fee 💰. It’s a small incentive, but it clearly rewards early planning instead of last-minute decisions.

Next comes the most critical part: inventory 🚚.

To be Prime-eligible, stock must arrive at Amazon fulfillment centers by May 27 for AWD and FBA (minimal shipment splits), and by June 5 for FBA (Amazon-optimized shipment splits). Shipments arriving after these dates may still be received, but there is no guarantee they will be Prime-ready in time ⚠️.

Amazon is also tightening its approach to promotions 📊

Key updates include:
• a new fee structure for deals
• stricter discount eligibility rules
• price history checks for the last 60 days
• a minimum 5% real discount requirement

In simple terms, Amazon is now preventing artificial pricing strategies where prices are increased before Prime Day just to show a “bigger discount” later. Pricing must reflect real market behavior 📉.

Put simply - Prime Day is becoming less about marketing tricks and more about operational readiness. You can drive traffic with ads, and you can convert with discounts. But if your product is not physically ready and in Amazon’s warehouses on time, it simply won’t participate in Prime Day.

👉 At Petani Logistics, we see the same pattern every year: most Prime Day losses are not caused by advertising or competition, but by logistics - delayed shipments, incorrect shipment splits, or lack of proper planning.

We help sellers avoid these issues by planning shipments in advance, monitoring Amazon deadlines, and ensuring inventory arrives on time. This creates more stability during peak season and reduces the risk of missing Prime Day due to operational issues.

🚀 Amazon’s Shenzhen hub: optimization tool or control shift?

Starting April 9, 2026, Amazon is expanding its logistics ecosystem with Global Warehousing & Distribution (GWD) in Shenzhen, China.

The concept is simple: store inventory closer to production and replenish US fulfillment centers through Amazon’s integrated system.

✨ What GWD promises:
• Up to -45% storage costs vs US AWD
• Up to 7 days faster replenishment to US FBA (when paired with AGL)
• Automated or manual inventory control
• End-to-end solution: shipping, customs, fulfillment in one system
• “List once, sell globally from day one” approach

🌍 This is a clear move toward simplifying global trade, where sellers focus on scaling their brand while logistics becomes an infrastructure service.

⚠️ At the same time, there are important nuances.
Sellers become more dependent on Amazon’s ecosystem, which reduces flexibility and supply chain control. Some savings may be offset by additional operational and customs-related costs, while inventory management between China and the US becomes more complex.

⚠️ Key considerations:
• Higher dependency on Amazon, reduced flexibility
• Potential additional logistics and customs costs
• Risk of delays and bottlenecks in China
• More complex cross-region inventory management 🇨🇳🇺🇸
• Reliance on Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) stability
• Geopolitical and regulatory risks (tariffs, trade policy changes)

📦 Overall, this model shifts supply chain management toward centralization. Sellers gain convenience but lose part of their direct control. In case of disruptions (logistics delays, policy shifts, tariffs), impact becomes more concentrated compared to hybrid or multi-warehouse setups.

💡 Conclusion: GWD is a strong scaling tool for global sellers with stable, predictable demand. However, it also introduces a new level of dependency and operational complexity that should be carefully evaluated before adoption.

🚨 Amazon FBA Canada Update: Prep & Labeling Services Ending July 1, 2026

Important operational change for all FBA sellers using the Canada marketplace.

Starting July 1, 2026, Amazon will discontinue FBA prep and item labeling services in Canada to improve fulfillment efficiency and delivery speed.

📦 What this means:
• All inventory sent to Canadian FBA must be fully prepped and labeled before arrival

• This applies to:
- Direct FBA shipments
- Amazon SEND shipments
- Supply Chain Portal inventory processed via FBA

⚠️ Key impact:
• Shipments created before July 1 will still receive prep services (even if delivered later)
• Shipments created after July 1 without proper prep/labels will still be processed, but won’t be eligible for reimbursement if damaged or untraceable

💡 Amazon’s direction is clear:
The shift is toward supply chain responsibility moving fully to sellers or 3PL providers.

✔️ Your options going forward:
• Handle prep & labeling in-house
• Work with third-party prep providers
A reliable 3PL doesn’t just handle prep and fulfillment - it can also help you optimize inventory and reduce extra Amazon fees, such as low inventory level fees, storage limits, placement fees, and more.

👉 Recommendation: review your fulfillment setup now and adjust processes before the deadline to avoid disruption.

At PETANI Logistics, we support Amazon sellers with end-to-end fulfillment solutions across the USA, Canada, UK, and Germany - including FBA prep, labeling, warehousing, and cross-border logistics from Asia. If you need support adapting to these changes, feel free to reach out.

🚨 EU Sellers Take Note: Amazon Adds 1.5% Fulfilment Fee Surcharge

Recently, we shared an update about the 3.5% fulfilment surcharge introduced by Amazon in the US and Canada. However, it’s important to also look at what’s happening in Europe.

Starting April 17, 2026, Amazon will introduce a 1.5% fuel and logistics-related surcharge on fulfilment fees across EU FBA markets, including the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Ireland, and Belgium.

From May 2, 2026, the same surcharge will apply to Multi-Channel Fulfilment (MCF) in key EU countries: the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.

💡 What does this mean in simple terms?

• The surcharge is applied to fulfilment fees, not product prices
• Average impact: ~£0.05 / €0.05 per unit (varies by size and weight)
• It reflects continued elevated fuel and logistics costs across the industry
• Amazon has stated this is lower than similar carrier adjustments due to prior cost optimizations

📦 Why it matters for sellers:

Even a small per-unit increase can significantly impact margins at scale. For high-volume sellers, this can quickly translate into noticeable additional operational costs.

📊 The good news:
Amazon has already updated its reporting tools (Profit Analytics, Revenue Calculator, Fee & Economics reports), making it easier to track the real impact on your business.

💡 What to consider next:
This is a good moment to reassess your fulfilment strategy and overall logistics setup across Europe.

At PETANI Logistics, we help sellers stay flexible and cost-efficient with:
• North America & Europe warehousing
• FBA and FBM fulfilment support
• Convenient inventory management
• Global import solutions (Asia, Europe, North America)
• Full visibility across stock and orders

As fulfilment costs evolve, having a diversified logistics setup becomes a competitive advantage.

🚨 Amazon Adds a 3.5% Fulfilment Fee Surcharge - Here’s What It Means

Amazon is introducing a temporary 3.5% surcharge on fulfilment fees due to rising costs in shipping and logistics. "Similar to other major carriers, when costs remain elevated, we implement temporary surcharges on our fulfillment fees to recover a portion of the actual cost increases we are experiencing," Amazon wrote.

Here’s what it means in simple terms:

1️⃣ What is a surcharge?

It’s an extra fee added to the cost Amazon charges to store, pack, and ship your products. This does not affect the price you sell your product for - it only affects the FBA fees.

2️⃣ When does it start?

April 17, 2026: FBA in the US and Canada, and Remote Fulfilment from the US to Canada, Mexico, and Brazil.

May 2, 2026: Buy with Prime in the US and Multi-Channel Fulfilment (MCF) in the US and Canada

3️⃣ How much does it cost?

On average: $0.17 per item in the US and CAD $0.26 per item in Canada.

The exact amount depends on the size and weight of your product.

4️⃣ What this means in practice:

Even a small increase can have a noticeable effect - especially for sellers operating on tight margins.

A surcharge of $0.17 might sound minor, but many products are sold in high volumes.

For sellers shipping thousands of units monthly, this can quickly add up to thousands of dollars in extra costs.

✅ Larger retailers can usually absorb this temporarily, but smaller businesses often have much less flexibility.

💡 What can you do?

Moments like this are a good time to review your logistics setup and look for more flexible, cost-efficient solutions alongside FBA.

At PETANI Logistics, we specialize in FBA fulfillment, but also provide:
• Warehousing for Amazon and other sales channels
• Storage and inventory management
• Support for multi-channel shipping
• Importing goods from Asia, Europe, or North America directly to our warehouse
• Full visibility of inventory across all locations via our CRM

🌸 Spring is here - the Spring Sale is in full swing! Clear out your excess inventory!

As nature awakens, shoppers become more active too. They’re looking for new products, inspired by seasonal trends, and ready to make purchases. This is the perfect time to take full advantage of all the selling opportunities on Amazon.

🗓️ This year, the Big Spring Sale will run from March 25 to 31 and will cover over 35 categories - from fashion and beauty to home goods, electronics, and sports. It’s a seven-day event with daily deals, special discounts, and promotional items, including Amazon Outlet deals and overstock. Every day, customers see new offers, which drives quick purchases and boosts sales.

💡 Seller Benefits: The uniqueness of this and every sale is not just about discounts -it also allows you to clear excess inventory.
· Reduce storage costs: long-term storage in FBA incurs Long-Term Storage Fees for aging inventory. Selling excess stock during sales helps you avoid these fees.
· Improve cash flow: moving excess inventory quickly frees up capital that can be reinvested in new products.
· Optimize warehouse space: sales help free up space for popular items and new product lines. Increase visibility: products participating in sales get additional promotional placement, attracting new customers.

🏢 At the same time, a more reliable and flexible solution is using a 3PL warehouse.
With 3PL, there are no long-term storage fees or additional charges, and you can store goods until they’re actually needed for Amazon shipment or direct-to-customer fulfillment. This allows for more efficient inventory management, cost minimization, and avoidance of unexpected fees.

✅ How to combine both approaches:
Use sales events to quickly move excess inventory and free up warehouse space. Keep the majority of your stock at a 3PL warehouse to avoid long-term storage fees and additional charges. Ship items to Amazon only when they’re needed for FBA or customer orders to reduce costs and control inventory.

We wish you successful sales and PETANI Logistics' team is always ready to support you with fulfillment in the USA, Canada, UK, and Germany, as well as shipping goods from Asia.
