🚨 Amazon is changing product title requirements📅
Starting July 27, 2026, Amazon will require product titles in all categories except media to be 75 characters or less, including spaces ✂️
Why does this matter?
📱 Amazon says the change is designed to improve the mobile shopping experience, ensuring titles display properly across devices.
To compensate for shorter titles, sellers will be able to use Item Highlights ✨, a new field that provides up to 125 additional characters for key product details, materials, and use cases.
🤖 Amazon is also introducing AI-powered recommendations to help sellers optimize titles and Item Highlights according to the new requirements.
⚠️ Sellers should review their listings before July 27.
If a title still exceeds 75 characters after the deadline, Amazon may gradually replace it with an AI-generated recommendation.
For brand owners 👇
Amazon will provide a 14-day review period before implementing AI-generated changes. During this time, brands will be able to review, edit, approve, or reject the proposed title and Item Highlights updates.
Even if changes are applied, your listings will remain active 🟢, and you will still be able to edit product titles and Item Highlights at any time ✏️
Key takeaway 💡: don't wait until the last minute.
Reviewing and updating your listings now gives you full control over how your products appear in search results and on product pages.
