A century ago, fresh food couldn't travel far. Ice melted, food spoiled, and what you ate depended on where you lived. Then in 1938, an inventor named Frederick McKinley Jones designed a refrigeration unit that could ride on a truck, and it changed how America eats.

Today, trucks move nearly three quarters of America's freight. Groceries, medicine and vaccines all depend on the cold chain.

That's where we come in. In 1980, Steven Aaron started Stevens Transport in Dallas, Texas with just 10 trucks. Today our family business runs more than 2,500 trucks and 4,700 trailers across the U.S., Canada and Mexico, keeping America's food and medicine at the right temperature, mile after mile.

Your phone, power tools, tablets and other battery powered devices are part of everyday life. The way you charge them matters too.

For Fire Prevention Week, Stevens Transport is sharing a few simple charging habits worth remembering whether you are in the truck, at the terminal or in the office.

⚡ Cheap charger? Don’t chance it. Use the cord and charger that came with your device or one approved by the manufacturer.

⚡ Soft surface? Hard pass. Charge devices on a hard, flat surface like a table, desk or bare floor.

⚡ Fully charged? Time to unplug. Disconnect devices once they have finished charging.

⚡ For tools and rides, charge outside. Large items like power tools, e bikes and scooters should be charged outside when possible.

⚡ Feels hot? Stop using it. If a device becomes very hot, swells, smells strange, leaks, smokes or makes unusual sounds, stop using it.

This week and every week, use your charging superpowers and make smart charging habits part of the routine.

To the October 1st, 2026 New Driver Class; you answered that voice.

Every person sitting in our Dallas classroom today arrived with a different backstory, sacrificed weekends, career pivots, and a determination to build something bigger for themselves and their loved ones. You didn't just pass a course, you earned the right to step into that cab and make a better future.

When you adjust your mirrors for that first run, remember, you aren't just hauling freight, you are moving America forward, keeping dinner tables set, and proving to yourself what grit looks like in real time.

Our Stevens Transport Perdue team recently spent time with our partners at Perdue Farms for training and had the opportunity to take part in the annual Skip Silling Memorial Golf Tournament, a tradition that helps support the fight against cancer.

That cause is part of a much bigger legacy at Perdue. Since 1998, Perdue associates have raised more than $915,000 for the American Cancer Society. In 2024 alone, their fundraising efforts delivered a record $104,210 to support the organization and the people and families it serves.

Cancer has touched far too many families. We are grateful our team had the opportunity to spend time with our partners, support a cause that matters, and be part of a tradition focused on helping others.

31 years of selfless service to our nation. Command Sergeant Major Gary Williams spent over three decades in the U.S. Army leading with integrity, heart, and strength. When he retired his uniform, he brought that incredible spirit home to his wife, four children, and three grandchildren in Texas, all while taking on a new mission behind the wheel at Stevens Transport.

Now, Gary is being recognized on a national stage as a top five finalist for the Transition Trucking award.

Listening to Gary talk about his journey reminds us what true humility looks like. He will tell you his success is just a little skill and a lot of luck, but anyone who knows his story knows it comes from a lifetime of sacrifice and dedication. From serving our country in uniform to delivering for our communities on the open road, Gary continuously shows us what it means to lead with heart.
