Our thoughts and prayers are with the McGovern family during this time of loss. Donnie was a good man that will be missed by many.

It is with a heavy heart that we as a community say goodbye to Sgt. Donny McGovern. Sgt McGovern was not only an exceptional man, but an outstanding asset to his community. For over 35 years, Sgt. McGovern devoted his life to protecting the citizens of Simpson County while working at both Mendenhall PD and the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office. His passion for community service is a rare attribute and will be greatly missed. Our prayers and sympathies go out to his loved ones as they grieve this loss. We will miss you, Simpson-13!! Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4 to 5 for family, 5 to 8 for friends.
Funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 AM at Tutors in Magee.
