We’d like to extend a big congratulations to Maggie Howell, who completed her first solo yesterday! Maggie was one of the recipients of our chapter’s Amy Wells Memorial Scholarships and we are thrilled to see her making good progress with her flight training. Way to go Maggie!

We have made the difficult decision to cancel tomorrow's Young Eagles Rally in Cynthiana due to forecast afternoon thunderstorms. We are committed to providing a safe and fun ride for the kids and we aren't willing to take chances when it comes to weather. We appreciate your understanding.

Another Wings and Wheels is in the books!

Even though the day was a bit chilly, we still had a great turnout with around 90 vehicles, 3 helicopters, and several planes on display. Kevin Florence and I (ReJeana Craft) would like to extend a big thank you to the Cynthiana Harrison County Airport Board for allowing us to host this event each year — we couldn’t do it without their support.

We also want to give a huge thank you to all the participants who brought their vehicles, helicopters, and planes and braved the cold to make the event such a success. We appreciate each and every one of you!

Next up, Kevin’s gearing up for the Cynthiana Rod Run, Kentucky in August! Make sure you mark your calendars (August 23, 2025) — you won’t want to miss it!

A lot of great things happening at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Airport.

Our next EAA 1522 chapter gathering is this Sunday, March 23rd, at 2:30 pm, and we have a great speaker lined up this month. Michael Hayter will be discussing the sport of gliding from the beginner stage to the advanced level and competitions. Michael is 17, soloed at 14, earned his glider rating at 16, and last year competed in and won the 1-26 Championships. He is based at the Ceasear Creek Soaring Club in Ohio.

Please come and listen to Michael speak and, for the parents, gliding may be a great intro to flying for your kids.
