One of the best stories I just heard.
A boy walks up to his dad while his dad was working on his computer. The boy asked his dad what he was doing. Dad explained that he was working on a criminal complaint. The boy asked his dad, "what's a criminal complaint?" His father explained that a criminal complaint is like a story that you read in a book. The boy left his father alone.
About an hour later the young boy walked up to his dad and excitedly said, "dad, I wrote a story. Do you want to hear it?" His dad said sure as he stopped typing and leaned back in his chair.
His son started reading his story. "A boy emptied his piggy bank and walked into a store. He asked the owner of the store how much the kite would cost. The owner said the kite would cost $25. The boy gave the owner all of his money totalling $5." The owner informed the little boy that he simply didn't have enough money to buy the kite.
The boy stopped reading his story to his dad. His dad asked, "is that the end of your story?" His son said yes. The father asked to see the piece of paper. Looked and confirmed that it was the end of his son's story. His father explained that it could not be the end and that every story needs to have a good ending that will please the audience.
The boy said to his dad, "if you give me $20 then I can finish the story with a good ending for the audience."
