Experience Smith Island LLC Offering day tours to Smith Island to experience the heritage, history, and way of life. The boat is docked at pier B6 and parking is available at the marina.

Experience Smith Island offers a 6 hour day trip to historic Smith Island MD for an immersive experience. Passengers will board the Circuit Rider at Somers Cove Marina in Crisfield MD. We will depart Crisfield at 10:30 am and arrive at Tylerton approximately 11:30. You will have 90 minutes to explore the quaint community. We will then depart Tylerton and travel leisurely through the town of Rhodes

Point and then on to the docks at Ewell where you will have 2 hours to explore the community. We will depart Ewell at 3:30 and return to Somers Cove Marina at approximately 4:30. For bookings or to find out more information visit our website or contact us on messenger or by email.

⛈️🌊 We’ve been hearing a lot about storms of all kinds lately and our prayers are with all who are effected by these forces of nature. 🙏🏻 As Smith Islanders we certainly know what it’s like to be effected by these forces weather! An island in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay is extremely vulnerable! 🏝️ I guess you could say that we have learned to live with nature and not fight against it. Down through the years we have had our share of flooding, tropical storms, nor’easters, hurricanes and even a tornado or two! 🌪️🌀🌊 As Smith Islanders we have been very blessed to have withstood hurricanes such as fierce as Hazel, Gloria, Hugo, and Isabelle and a tornado that swept through Rhodes Point and Ewell only a few years ago! Here are some pictures and videos taken down through the years of various storms and the aftermath that followed. Also, some recent thunderstorm footage and easterly tides from last year. To our amazement our guests still want to come over and “EXPERIENCE” this side of as well!!!♥️⚓️🦀⛴️

⛴️🌊Another day to 😎 And, every tour is different!👏🏻 That’s why it never gets old for us! We had an awesome day! We pulled up a crab pot with a soft crab and it’s shed in it, and we had gorgeous weather up until 3:00 when a storm came up fast. ⛈️ No worries we just waited it out. 😌 We saw one boat, tied up at Tylerton and then pass by our dock at Rhodes Point while we were doing our crab demonstration and our “mailboat” The Island Belle II trailed us from Smith Island back to Crisfield after the storm had passed. What a great day on the bay!! 🦀⚓️🏝️

We had the pleasure of taking Undiscovered DC to Smith Island, and what a great time we had! 🛥️🌊

There were plenty of opportunities to share stories, talk about island life, and—most importantly—have some fun along the way!

So, just to repeat what Capt. Everett said, “Unlike the hard crab pot which needs to be baited up, the peeler pot does not. Why do you think that is?” And, for more points…😅😂 There is a brief time in the year when peeler pots get baited, called the peeler run. 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏼When it’s the peeler run you do put bait in the pot. Earlier this year, we had the pleasure of taking the Outdoors Delmarva crew over to Smith Island as part of a segment produced in partnership with Somerset County Tourism. We were honored to be one of the featured experiences, alongside Lisa and the Smith Island Cultural Center.
