Sharing our experience renewing Denny’s passport through DHL 🇺🇸📬

From the day we sent everything with the required forms to the nearest U.S. Consulate, to picking up the new passport at the same DHL location, the whole process took only 4 weeks! 🙌🏼

Sharing this in case it helps anyone else who needs to renew their U.S. passport while traveling or living abroad. ✈️🌎

Our friends from Mazatlán came through San Miguel on their travels, and it was so nice to catch up! ❤️ Life has a funny way of bringing good friends back together in unexpected places.

A little glimpse into our daily life in San Miguel de Allende 🇲🇽❤️ From cute little shops we discover along the way, to delicious gorditas, there’s always something fun around the next corner!

We’re always peeking through open doors because you never know what you’ll find inside 👀✨ And of course, no trip to the main plaza is complete without enjoying some mariachi! 🎺🎶

✨ One of the most iconic churches in Mexico… but did you know it wasn’t always this way?

⛪ The Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel in San Miguel de Allende began construction in the 1700s, but its famous pink neo-Gothic façade came much later.

The design was created by local architect Zeferino Gutiérrez, who was inspired by European Gothic architecture.

And one of the coolest details? He reportedly drew inspiration from illustrations and photographs rather than traveling to Europe! 🇲🇽

Today, this beautiful church stands at the heart of San Miguel’s historic center and has become one of Mexico’s most recognizable landmarks.

Just another reason we love wandering the streets of San Miguel. ❤️

Yesterday we took the one-hour bus from San Miguel de Allende to Dolores Hidalgo to explore this historic town. 🚌

Known as the birthplace of Mexico’s Independence movement, it’s where Father Miguel Hidalgo gave the famous Grito de Dolores in 1810. We wandered through the main plaza, visited the church, explored the colorful streets, enjoyed some great local food, and were thankful we brought an umbrella during the rainy season. ☔️

Next time, we may have to come back and check out one of the wineries nearby. 🍷

Some of our favorite days here aren’t the ones with a plan… they’re the little moments in between. 💛

The colorful streets, fresh flowers on every corner, the sound of church bells, morning walks, hidden doorways, beautiful architecture, and the simple rhythm of everyday life in San Miguel de Allende.

Just a collection of the little things we’ve been seeing, noticing, and appreciating along the way. Sometimes it’s those ordinary moments that end up becoming your favorite memories. ✨

After spending the morning soaking in the hot springs at La Gruta, we were definitely ready for some food. 😄

We noticed Mama Mia Campestre on Google Maps, so we decided to make the 2 km walk over from La Gruta—and it was 100% worth it. The restaurant has a brewery right next door, the grounds are absolutely beautiful, and the whole place has such a peaceful, relaxing vibe.

It ended up being the perfect way to wrap up our hot springs day with a delicious meal before heading back. If you’re visiting La Gruta, we’d definitely recommend adding this little detour to your day! 💛

Spent the morning at La Gruta Hot Springs, and it couldn’t have been a more relaxing way to start the day. 💦🌿

We soaked in the different thermal pools, lounged by the water, and enjoyed slowing down together. It’s been so much fun experiencing San Miguel alongside good friends and making memories as we explore this beautiful area.

Today, while walking by the main plaza, we were lucky to come across a beautiful traditional Danza de Apaches performed in honor of San Miguel Arcángel. It was such a powerful and meaningful moment to watch — full of rhythm, color, and devotion.
The dance felt like a living piece of tradition, with dancers in striking costumes moving to the beat as part of a celebration rooted in local culture and faith. We love moments like this, where a simple walk turns into an unexpected glimpse of something so rich and beautiful. ✨
