When ppl say just "buff it out" they think because we make it look easy as pros ~ that it actually is. Although it's seems straightforward, it ain't easy! You have to know what RPM to run your machine, what type of pad(s) to use, with particular compounds & coatings (in the right order). Not to mention your cadence, hand pressure, crosshatch patterns, the list goes on. So although ppl don't think of detailing as a trade it truly is. Especially when you're dealing with machines to do oxidation removal, paint correction and/or gelcoat restoration. You can do more harm than good, if you don't know what you're doing. The better bet is to hire someone who has the expertise to get you the results you want while saving you time & sweat 😅
