Corona Airport EAA Ch494 will be having their next Young Eagle Flight Event on Aug 29. Registration will open a couple weeks before. Other local chapters in So Cal may have events in July or early August. Check https://events.eaachapters.org/ for possible dates and locations.

We held our May Young Eagles Flight Event yesterday and the weather was great for flying. 26 young people got a chance to ride in a general aviation aircraft and get exposed to a possible career path. We also introduced 3 of our 5 scholarship winners for 2026. Our next scholarship period will open up later this year. Our next YE event will be announced here and in the YE Event Calendar at

If anyone is available tomorrow night (Wednesday night) and waves to fly to Gillespie for this meeting, please check it out. This is about reopening the Agua Caliente airport. The RAF presented tonight next door at flabob and made us aware of what's going on around Southern California. They're fighting for the Santa Monica airport too.

Our scholarship program was recently featured in AvBrief.com
This year we awarded 5, $2000 scholarships to be used for flight training. Our next application period will open later this year around Dec 1. Scholarship funds available are based solely on donations. Feel free to help, see the donation link in our header.

Yesterday the weather looked a little threatening in the morning but cleared to puffy clouds and blue skies allowing us to fly 22 Young Eagles. The EAA Young Eagles Program provides Free flights for kids 8-17 to experience aviation in a light aircraft. Our next local event is tentatively scheduled for May 30.
