Standing in the bitter cold December on the mountains of Ararat, I’m overlooking the supposed site of Noah’s Ark. We’re here to celebrate Daniel’s birthday at one of the oldest preserved sites of Biblical history. It was my surprise for him in 2020.

How did I coordinate this on a budget, during a pandemic, to a remote area where English is non-existent, without worrying about military presences on the Turkish, Iranian, and Armenian borders, all the while eating sideroad grilled lamb kebabs and having snowball fights with locals on rooftops?
