Fun fact: the Cessna 206 has one of the twistiest backstories in general aviation. 😄
It started life as the Model 205, basically a fixed-gear take on the retractable Cessna 210. Then came the big cargo doors, a whole parade of names (Super Skywagon, anyone?), a production pause in 1986, and a 1998 comeback with a Lycoming engine up front instead of a Continental.
So if you're eyeing a Stationair in 2026, the year in the logbook really matters. A classic U206 and a new Turbo Stationair look like cousins, but they're pretty different under the cowl.
