We’re looking for volunteers to help us count trail users on the Great Allegheny Passage during our upcoming Trail Count Day on Sunday, June 14, 1:00-3:00pm.

This simple but important effort helps us estimate how many visits people are making to the GAP; data that directly supports funding, investment, and improvements along the trail corridor.

Volunteering is easy: spend two peaceful hours along the trail, tally walkers and cyclists, and enjoy the experience of seeing the GAP in action. You can even choose a location near you, from Cumberland to Pittsburgh and many points in between.

Plus, volunteers receive some great perks, including a raffle entry for a GAP jersey and a free TrailGuide!

How awesome is this? On Memorial Day, we had some folks from Warrior Expeditions riding through on the 3,700+ mile route that is the Great American Rail Trail (from DC to Seattle). Warrior Expeditions is a nonprofit outdoor therapy program that helps veterans heal from their wartime experiences through long distance outdoor expeditions. It was really cool to hear about the program, the gear they use, and the people who go on these trips. Thank you for your service, for stopping into our bike shop, and for sharing your stories. We wish you the best of luck on the rest of your journey!

More Memorial Day sale bikes:
If you want something a little more adventurous than a cruiser, we also have a nice selection of hybrid bikes on sale! Pictured here are several extremely comfortable KHS bikes - the TC-150s (grey and black) and the Westwood (fire engine red) - as well as some electric Fuji bikes, the E-Traverse and E-Crosstown. All of these are the new versions of well-loved bikes we have in our rental fleet. Folks always comment on how much they enjoyed their ride on them. Come see them for yourself! We are elated to announce that we have filled the position for an experienced bike mechanic here at the Cyclery!! 🎉 A huge thanks you goes to everyone in our community for spreading the word and sharing our job listing.. it obviously found its way to the right person! In fact, we are absolutely STOKED to introduce Brandon! He has worked in the biking industry in a variety of capacities in Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Colorado for many years and brings a ton of cool knowledge about full suspension and mountain bikes. You may recognize him from the downhill bike park at Seven Springs, or if you've been to the shop already this season, he might've even worked on your bike! When it's not biking season, you can usually find him tuning up skis or shredding the slopes. Needless to say, he's a rad guy and we are grateful to add him to the team 🙌

As the sun and spring flowers are finally re-appearing in Confluence, so are the boaters and cyclists! We are so excited to see everything ramping up in town and have been hard at work to get the Cyclery ready for the 2026 season. We will open on Saturdays and Sundays, 9am-5pm, throughout April starting this weekend (April 4th & 5th) and will be open full-time starting May 1st. Come get your spring tune-ups or simply stop by and say hello! We will be happy to see you. 🌞🌷

It is with great sadness that we must relay the news of the passing of Larry Walsh. While he was not an employee of the Cyclery, he was a fixture in the shop. Many of you know him as the man who shuttled you to another point on the trail or led you in a ride around town that he called "Tour de Confluence". Many of you know him as the guy who would help anyone with anything. We cannot find the words to applaud all that he did or to express our sorrow of his passing. Confluence and the GAP has lost a great man. While it may be cold and snowy outside, things are certainly heating up at the Cyclery! 🔥 As we start looking forward to spring and dusting things off for the 2026 season, we wanted to start our search for an experienced bike mechanic / general helper for the year! Hey folks! As the leaves and the temperatures are steadily falling and the end of the biking season is approaching, we want to make a couple quick announcements.

1. The last day for Confluence Cyclery's 2025 season is October 31st. We have thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone and working on your bikes this year, but it's officially time for our break! We will be open for merch and accessory purchases, emergent repairs, rentals, sales, and tune-ups until Friday, the 31st. We will be closed from November 1st until the first weekend of April, although we will continue to honor appointments for pre-discussed sales and electric conversions.

2. Looking ahead to next year - yes, you read the sign correctly! We are growing! In order to maintain the highest quality of service, we are excited to announce that we are seeking an experienced mechanic for the 2026 season. A more detailed job description and information on how to apply will be released soon in a separate post.

It has been such a fun time seeing everyone in the shop this season, and we look forward to doing it all again next year!

Hello everyone! We wanted to put out a quick post to make you all aware of a slight biking hazard here in town. There is some temporary road work happening on the stretch right in front of the bike shop, and they have removed all of the dirt and debris from the cracks in the concrete. Some of these are pretty deep and perfectly bike tire-sized, most notably the ones running down the middle of the street. Please use caution when riding in this area for now!
