Member highlight:

Carol Brady is an abstract artist, educator, and creative. She is currently painting a new series and partnering with .sc as well as local businesses to host community-led art events. Carol paints with acrylic on raw canvas and has a passion for unexpected composition. She draws inspiration from the parks and waterways that surround the city and translates her environment into abstract works. Carol spends most weekends exploring with her wife, baby, and toddler. She is inspired by the big and small moments that connect us back to nature.

Carol believes that we are all artists. “I met someone who told me he was an artist, so I thought he made art for a living.” she shared on Instagram. “ As we got to be better friends I learned he was a big time boss. Powerful. I was intimidated and confused. “I thought you were an artist?” she said to him. So he showed me his writings, his paintings, his dancing, and his thoughts. “My job is not who I am. I’m an artist, I create.” he said. Carol has called herself an artist ever since.

She is not just incredibly skilled , her extraordinary High-Fashion garments will be breathtakingly beautiful!

“Over the past year, I’ve been working on a collaborative collection of textiles and home goods with Amanda Louise Interiors in Greenville, SC. What began with a cold email to the designer evolved into a joint effort to create functional art. After a successful pop-up in Greenville, I’m excited to share this collection with Columbia next week!

We’ll be at Turner & Moss in Five Points on Oct 19 from 6–9PM. I would love to see the Femme community there— I love being part of such a supportive group of women in our city.”
