Spotted Lanternfly Permit Requirements
The Spotted Lanternfly is an invasive species from Southeast Asia that
infiltrated Southeastern Pennsylvania in 2012 but was not first sighted until
2014. The Spotted Lanternfly feeds on the sap of trees and plants and
threatens the viability of agricultural commerce in Pennsylvania. Due to this
infestation, thirteen counties in southeastern Pennsylvania are designated as quarantine zones. If
you reside in, make deliveries to, pickup from, or rest break within the quarantined areas, as of May
1, 2019, you are required to have a Spotted Lanternfly permit.
