Wow, talk about an adventure! We drove from Boise to Lewiston, which is less than 250 miles. Took us 8 hours because of construction. But, we ended up camping near Nasqually John Landing on the Snake River, on Wawawai Road in Washington. Just barely time to set up camp before it got dark. Around 10:30, two men in a truck pulled up, stopped and turned off their truck. We thought we were possibly in a not so good situation. Turns out they we were placing fishing traps! Then the wind started up. It was probably not 200 MPH, but in a roof top tent it felt that way. It was so strong that the bottom half of the tent and ladder were picked up and I could barely get it back down as Angie was outside battening down the hatches! Then the was a VERY long and VERY fast train that sounded as if it were coming off the tracks. It shook the whole car! This morning, the Smittybilt had weathered the wind storm and all was calm and beautiful. We also spotted a cruise ship just passing by the camp spot. We did laundry in the river, hung it out to dry on some barbed wire and then hit the road again by noon. Today we'll spend time in Lewiston, Idaho with a long time friend of Angie's. Pretty eventful 24 hours! Smittybilt Jeep
