Be aware. This is happening now. Follow the advice from the Coconut Creek Police.

We have had our first report here in Coconut Creek of someone receiving those "mystery seeds" from China. There have been almost 200 of these incidents so far in Florida, according to the State Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services [FDACS]. The seeds show up as an unsolicited package on your doorstep. Most of them have what appears to be Chinese characters on the packaging. FDACS says not to open the packet containing the seeds and definitely not to plant them. If you receive a package of "mystery seeds" the FDACS wants you to contact them via phone [1-888-397-1517] or email [[email protected]]. You can also report the package to the United States Department of Agriculture [USDA] by calling them at 1-800-877-3835 or emailing them [email protected]. So far, none of the states that have received the seeds have found any of them to be harmful. The photo is courtesy of the Commonwealth of Kentucky's Department of Agriculture. The State of Florida reported receiving its first package just last week.
