Its cold outside. Clinton Emergency Management has activated the cold weather protocol which means free bus rides so you can get to a warming station.

City Hall, Clinton Fire Department Building Safety Division, and the Clinton Public Library will be closed to walk-in traffic, and the administrative offices at the Ericksen Community Center will be closed on Monday, February 16, 2026 for staff development. All phone calls will be returned on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, when normal office hours will resume.

The Rec Fitness Center at the Ericksen Community Center will remain open on Monday, February 16, 2026 with KISI App access. All evening programming at the Ericksen Community Center will take place as scheduled.

The MTA Administrative offices will be open on Monday, February 16, 2026 (regular scheduled hours). All bus routes and para transit services will be operational on Monday, February 16, 2026.

The Administrative offices at the Police Department will be open on Monday, February 16, 2026 (regular scheduled hours).

Garbage and recycling collection will NOT be delayed. Collection will take place as scheduled on Monday, February 16, 2026.

Tuesday is going to be cold. The County Emergency Management Team has kept the extreme temperature plan in effect one more day. Tuesday January 27th.

Update. Due to the extreme cold weather the MTA is offering free bus rides Tomorrow January 26th, 2026, The MTA discourages any unnecessary travel. The MTA will offer free bus rides whenever the Clinton County Emergence Management Agency activates the extreme temperature plan so that those in need can get to a designated warming station. 🥶Stay Safe and Stay Warm🥶

As a reminder, due to the extreme cold, the MTA will be providing FREE fixed route bus rides on January 23, 2026 and January 24, 2026, to help citizens to warming stations.

Warming station locations:
-Recovery Community Center, 9am to 7pm
-Victory Center Ministries, 9am to 5pm
