ANOTHER FIRST SOLO AT 6R3!

A huge congratulations to Ava on completing her first solo flight!

After plenty of training and some great instruction from Nick with Texas Stick And Rudder LLC, Ava reached that unforgettable moment when the instructor steps out and it’s time to take to the sky on your own!

And, of course, with a first solo comes one of aviation’s great traditions, getting that shirttail cut!

Congratulations, Ava! You earned it, and we’re glad Cleveland Municipal Airport could be part of such an important milestone in your aviation journey.

Great job, Ava, and great work, Nick! Here’s to many more flights, milestones, and blue skies ahead!

We absolutely love seeing moments like this at 6R3!

Today, Daniel took to the skies with his 94-year-old grandfather, Francesco, for a flight that was more than two decades in the making.

Francesco is no stranger to aviation, he once owned a Beechcraft Bonanza, but it had been more than 20 years since he had been in a single-engine airplane.

When Daniel asked his grandfather if he wanted to go flying with him, Francesco didn’t hesitate! He made his way all the way down from Rhode Island to Cleveland, Texas, to make it happen.

At 94 years young, Francesco climbed back into a small airplane and took to the skies once again, this time with his grandson by his side.

Aviation has a special way of connecting generations, bringing back memories, and creating brand-new ones at the same time.

Daniel and Francesco, thank you for letting 6R3 be a small part of such a special day. We hope the flight brought back some great memories for Francesco and created one that both of you will never forget.

Here’s to family, aviation, and never being too old to get back in the sky!

Now this is a piece of aviation history!

We had the pleasure of meeting the pilot of this beautiful Boeing Stearman as he stopped by Cleveland Municipal Airport for some fuel before continuing on to his next destination.

The Stearman is one of those airplanes that makes you stop what you’re doing and take a look. The open cockpit, radial engine, and classic biplane design are a reminder of an incredible era of aviation.

It was great meeting the pilot and getting a chance to see his Stearman up close.

Quick stop and back to the skies!

This sharp-looking Cirrus SR22 made its way into Cleveland Municipal Airport for a quick passenger pickup before turning right around and heading back out.

That’s one of the great things about general aviation...pull up, pick up your passengers, and get where you need to go without all the fuss!

We always enjoy seeing the variety of aircraft that make their way through 6R3.

We caught Varga Girl heading out from 6R3 to do what airplanes do best, burn a few holes in the sky!

No big mission, no special destination needed… sometimes you just need to fire up the airplane and go flying -Tom.

ALL HAIL… THE KING HAS ARRIVED!

The King Air, that is!

We had a sharp looking King Air make its way into Cleveland Municipal Airport, and it’s always a welcome sight on the ramp at 6R3.

There’s just something about a King Air, the sound of those turboprops, the presence on the ramp, and a design that has become an aviation classic.

Long live the King!
