The 2026 Cruise Boat Season is set to begin at the Port of Clarkston on April 3, 2026, with the arrival of the American Harmony and Lindblad Expeditions Seabird . 2026 will see a total of 73 dockings at the Port of Clarkston 7th Street Dock, equating to 145 total cruises with passengers embarking and disembarking in Asotin County. The Port feels privileged to have American Cruise Lines and Lindblad Expeditions crews and passengers gracing our shores.

This time of year, the United States Army Corps of Engineers closes the Snake River Dams to do annual maintenance.
During the navigation lock outage, crews dewater the navigation lock to perform essential inspections, repairs, or upgrades that would be impossible to complete while the locks are in service.

Thank you to the Pacific Northwest Waterways Association (PNWA) and the WallaWallaUSACE for organizing a tour of the Little Goose Dam. Port of Clarkston’s Commissioner Jay Backus, along with a group of constituents, enjoyed the tour earlier this week.

Every year, millions of tons of commodities are barged through the Columbia-Snake River System. One barge can carry the equivalent of 35 hopper cars or 134 semi-trucks of goods, leaving a much smaller carbon footprint than road or railway transportation methods.

American Cruise Lines, a fixture of the Clarkston waterfront (April – November) of each year, is now storing a vessel here during their offseason. The American Pride pictured below came to berth on November 12th at the 14th Street Dock and will remain there until it is repositioned late March in preparation for the 2026 cruise season to begin.

Since 2017 Mainly Marathons has been hosting their Washington leg of the Northwest Series in Clarkston. This year’s event is taking place September 22nd – 23rd at Granite Lake Park and along the National Recreation Trail. Planned races are 5K, 10K, 50K, Half-Marathon, and Marathon. The Port of Clarkston appreciates their support of the LC Valley year after year.
