It’s getting cold out there. That means it's time to get those boats ready for the off-season!
Winterizing isn’t just about stabilizing gas, fogging cylinders, and getting water out of engines.
It’s about making sure that your boat is safe, and ready for winter storage. Checking fuel lines for leaks. Inspecting shift, throttle, and steering cables for wear or damage. It’s about checking and greasing wheel bearings and gimbal bearings. Checking oil and fluid levels. Also checking gearcase oil for signs of water intrusion. Even inspecting the prop, and possibly removing wads of fishing line from the prop shaft.
It’s about preventative maintenance. A full inspection. For some, it may be the only time of year any of this is done.
Don’t be the one who skips it and finds out the meaning of B.O.A.T….
