We've noticed some furry little spectators who seem absolutely nuts about school buses. Maybe they're waiting for snack service, maybe they're reviewing the route schedule... either way, they're taking bus appreciation to a whole new level. 😂🌰

🚨 HERO ON THE ROAD! 🚨
We always say our drivers go above and beyond for our students, but on Sunday, driver Scott took "heroic actions" to a whole new level. 🚌💨After dropping students off after graduation, Scott was heading back to the bus garage when he noticed a shed on fire near a local home. Without hesitating, he immediately sprang into action. Scott safely stopped his bus and rushed to the house, making sure everyone inside was alerted and able to get out safely! Because of his quick thinking the fire didn't spread to the main house.🧯👨‍🚒

Scott, thank you for your incredible quick thinking and bravery. You made a life-saving difference in our community yesterday, proving once again that our team cares for people both on and off the bus.

Please join us in thanking Scott in the comments below! 👇❤️

When you come to work and see an email of thanks to our staff, it's priceless. Definitely a worthwhile read: I wanted to reach out and share my sincere gratitude for the entire team of bus drivers assigned to Scouters Mountain Elementary. My twins, Zuri and Rodrick (first graders), absolutely love riding the bus—Rodrick is especially interested in school buses, and it is truly the highlight of their day. All the drivers are always so kind and friendly, and they never fail to put a smile on my boy’s face.
I would also like to send a special note of sincere appreciation and kudos to Darryl (Bus 172) and Mr. David, the bus assistant, for their exceptional service. They have consistently gone above and beyond for my children, and I am so grateful for the extra care and support they provide. Their kindness is truly appreciated by our family. Thank you for all that your department does!

🚌✨ What an incredible weekend at the School Bus Roadeo! ✨🚌
We had the absolute best time watching our amazing NCSD Transportation team put their precision driving skills to the test. It was so much fun cheering them on and seeing their hard work and dedication on full display! We even had a competitive, friendly co****le game between districts. A massive CONGRATULATIONS to our team and Ed Taylor for bringing home 5th place! 🏆 We are so incredibly proud of how well you all represented our district and team behind the wheel. A huge thank you goes out to Sam for keeping everyone fueled up with fantastic cooking! 🍔🌭And all of the judges who volunteered their time and expertise to make this event possible.

Events like this remind us just how talented, tight-knit, and wonderful our transportation family truly is. Thank you to everyone who came out to support! 💛

Transportation will take these compliments any day, please read: I would like to file a compliment for Jim Dever. He was my bus driver for my 8th grade end-of-the-year trip this week. We left on Tuesday and were supposed to return tomorrow. However, due to thunderstorms that caused a power outage where we were staying, that included the loss of sewage services as well, and with no planned time for reinstatement, I made the difficult decision to head home last night. After driving my class to Crater Lake National Park during the day, I then had to tell Jim that he needed to drive us 6 hours home, at 6:30pm at night.

To say that Jim was supportive was an understatement. He was incredibly flexible, kind, professional, friendly, and helpful at every step of the trip, but especially during an unexpected schedule change, with incredibly difficult weather for most of the trip, to get us home at an ungodly hour of 12:30am (I'm not a night person/lol).

When we started out on the trip, he immediately told me that he was at my service, that he was ready for an adventure, and that whatever came our way, we would "Lewis and Clark" it together. I'm not sure how prophetic either of us realized that phrase would be, but he more than lived up to his words.

Thank you for assigning him to my trip this year. I would take him as my driver on any field trip going forward.

💛 Our drivers truly have the biggest hearts! 💛
During the Special Olympics today, Randy Wayland didn't just drive students—he jumped right in to help and support our amazing athletes. So much of the incredible work our drivers do happens behind the scenes, but they never hesitate to pitch in and show love when it matters most. We are so incredibly proud of our team. Please join us in saying a massive thank you to Randy! 🚌✨

We had a fantastic time participating in Bilquist Elementary's Safety Night! Our transportation team was thrilled to connect with students and families to share essential school bus safety tips. From teaching the "danger zone" areas around the bus to practicing safe loading and unloading procedures, our goal is to make sure every student feels confident and secure on their ride to and from school.

Caught in the act... of being amazing! 🚌💨Big thanks to our NCSD Transportation staff for another week of hard work and safe travels. We couldn’t do it without you!

Kristi Polansky: I want to nominate for digging blackberry vines out of the planting pot at Sabin during her layover. Heidi G.

Sean Morgan: Sean checks the staff lounge clock multiple times each month to ensure it is set accurately. This small but meaningful effort helps staff stay on time for their next routes and keeps things running smoothly. What makes this especially noteworthy is that Sean doesn't even use the staff lounge himself. I truly appreciate his thoughtfulness and initiative. Thank you for going out of your way to support our coworkers. Cheryl C.

Tylor Johnson: A huge KUDOS to Tylor Johnson for changing my flat tire. I was sitting in the parking lot, and he stopped and changed my tire for me, thank you Tylor. Brenda M

Lily Torres-Perez: Lily has been a participant in our Rider of the Week program. As of this moment, Lily has sixteen Rider of the Week nominations for this semester. She is always trying to squeeze in more. We do have lots of drivers and assistants who nominate kids for Rider of the Week, which we are thrilled about. What makes Lily stand out is that she is the only staff member who regularly recognizes high school students! This is the very core of what this program is about: finding something good in every student, even the students who are doing what they are supposed to do. By and large, high school students give us very little grief, and Lily is constantly vigilant, looking for students doing the right thing. Thank you, Lily, for seeing every one of our students, not just the littles, and mediums, but even our oldest students, who need just as much recognition as everybody else. Sam F.
