Boedeker Flying Service, Coastal Airstrike, and the Childress Single Engine Air Tanker base were activated in response to the fires this week, along with many other ground and aviation resources.

We fight fire all over the United States, and loss of life and property with any fire is tragic. This weeks events are very close to home. We are both grateful for the opportunity to help and saddened by the significant losses our friends and neighbors have experienced.

This morning we were joined at the airport by members of TFS Strike Teams 119 and 120 who are stationed at Childress as well. We discussed tactics, strategy, and how aviation can best support ground firefighters in their mission.
