A surprising amount of what goes into the garbage can actually be composted.

With WasteNot, you can keep food scraps, 100% paper products, and certified commercially compostable products out of the landfill.

On average, that’s about 40% of what households throw away.

And there’s a real climate benefit, too: for every 10 pounds of food waste composted instead of landfilled, about 9 pounds of CO₂ emissions are avoided.

Spooky season is here and the zero-emissions Compost Monster was out at the Orland Park Great Pumpkin Party this past weekend 👻🎃

While they make look scary, the compost monster is a friendly giant who only wants to eat your food scraps and compostable waste to keep them out of landfills 💚

Composting is one of the most impactful actions an individual can take to fight climate change.

WasteNot was founded to limit methane emissions coming from food waste in landfills. 24% of the waste we send to landfills in the US is food and 17% of all of our methane emissions come from food waste rotting in landfills.

Thank you to What A Waste Comedy Podcast for having WasteNot’s CEO, Liam Donnelly, on to expand upon his origin story and the impact of composting on our climate.
