CDOT has announced the reconstruction of Canal Street between Jackson Street and Adams Street that began August 7th, 2023. According to CDOT, the work is expected to last eighteen months. The full width of Canal Street, including the roadway and sidewalks, will be fully reconstructed.

Access to Union Station will be maintained and entrances adjacent to the Chicago River will be unaffected. A pdf flyer with all detour information is attached for your review. Please check the CDOT Website for updates and additional information.
