The American Trucking Associations is supporting a new bill that would provide $755 million in funding to expand commercial truck parking capacity across the United States.

The bipartisan Truck Parking Safety Improvement Act was introduced by U.S. Senators Cynthia Lummis and Mark Kelly, as well as Representatives Mike Bost and Angie Craig. The lack of safe and accessible parking for truck drivers is affecting supply chain efficiency, driver health and wellbeing, highway safety, and the environment.

A U.S. Department of Transportation report found that 98% of drivers regularly experience problems finding safe parking.
