🚌 There's a reason why National Superhero Day and National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day are both being celebrated today! Behind every safe ride to and from school is a dedicated driver who shows up early, stays alert in all conditions, and cares deeply about the students they serve. School bus drivers are often the first friendly face of the day and the last one to say goodbye—playing a vital role in our communities far beyond transportation.

Thank you for your patience, your commitment to safety, and the kindness you bring to every route. Your impact doesn’t go unnoticed, and today we recognize and appreciate all that you do!

During Wisconsin School Bus Driver Appreciation Week, it’s important for parents and guardians to remind their kids of the school bus danger zones, the areas where children are in the most danger of being hit.

• Kids should stay at least 12 feet from the bus, stay away from tires, and always wait until the bus comes to a stop before approaching.
• When crossing in front of the bus, follow the directions of the bus driver and help stay visible by crossing at least 10 feet in front of the bus.

Due to dangerously low temperatures, the Cumberland School District will be cancelling the following:

• After-school activities, today January 22.
• School, after-school activities, and Kids Club tomorrow Friday, January 23.

Kids Club will run its normal hours today, January 22, but we encourage early pick up, if possible.

Good afternoon, Dawgs! Due to the extreme wind chills predicted for Friday morning, CWASD will not have school on Friday, January 23. In addition, all extra-curricular and co-curricular activities on Thursday, January 22 and Friday, January 23 are also cancelled. Stay warm and have a great weekend!
