If you’ve managed to make enough good decisions in life, change those non-beneficial behaviors or habits to get you on a better path, be in the right rooms at the right time, or whatever else it took to be in a position to ride it out at Heron Point, you are incredibly blessed & good job 👏🏽

The level of care from the staff is top notch.
Even in bad moments on a bad day, everyone keeps their heads about them.
It’s a professionalism that you rarely see anymore.
Kudos to all of you.

Heron Point really is a nice place to be 👌🏽
No one pays me to say that & i’m not looking for money.. just a cottage or a river view apartment 😆

As we all age, we can no longer do all the things we used to.
I’m only 37 & trampolines + roller coasters are at the bottom of my fun list now 🙃
Puzzles sound more exciting.
I’ve sneezed wrong & thought I blew a few discs one time.
Life happens to us all 🤷🏻‍♂️

For this resident, she needed to move from her cottage to the building where she can get more attentive care if another accident were to happen.

I don’t see it as a loss of anything to rely on more people helping out in the day to day life.. it’s what it’s all about. Making sure you’re as comfortable & safe as you’ve asked someone to keep you.

So we came in & packed everything in boxes, moved the furniture over to the new apartment, then brought the boxes in & unpacked nearly everything, setting it up so it’s not so overwhelming.

During the packing, we were also able to sift out some trash & managed to make decisions on a few things to be donated, some sent off for auction & kept a little in storage for family to pick up.

The downsizing process is still good even if you’re staying at home, relying on family or someone else to care for you.

Watching loved ones enjoy your stuff that you no longer need or can use is a good feeling.

Thinning things down ahead of time just makes everything easier for everyone too.
I’ve seen family argue over dressers & trinkets 🤦🏻‍♂️
It’s not how you want to leave things.

& you don’t necessarily need someone like me to do this for you. It is possible to do on your own.

But, we have done it a lot.
I feel we have a good system.
+ many hands make light work ✌🏽

Sometimes I post consistently & sometimes I don’t 🤷🏻‍♂️

It looks like i’ve made 5 posts in all of August.
Yet, my calendar was full of work.

The goal is never to oversaturate with the same photo or the same words or the same whatever all the time.

I like things to be more meaningful if they can be.

Anyway, here’s a “meaningful” photo of me trimming a pad for a huge rug we laid under this bed with Erin / Common Thread Interiors ✌🏽

Also, in other news..
I didn’t have a heat stroke this summer 🙌🏽

Everyone has the right to live however they want.

Some people find happiness in buying things.
Others find it in experiences.

There’s nothing wrong with having stuff.
But, life does get harder when the stuff becomes too much.

Do you really need to get a storage unit to house all the junk you’ll never look at again?

Does the attic or basement or spare rooms really need to be filled with purchases instead of footsteps & laughter?

Do you care more about keeping all the unnecessary trinkets in their place rather than leaving room for fun?

My philosophy isn’t throw everything away & have nothing..
Keep the things that remind you of the good times.
Just don’t be chained to items.
Be able to live without them.
It’s just stuff.

No one has left this earth & took any thing with them.

It all stays behind.
Along with the way you treated the people around you.
You leave memories, whether good or bad.

Even deeper than that, the way you lived shapes those that were entrusted in your care or circle.
Passing on consumerism & hoarding & misery of being overwhelmed with too much is a generational issue that we should break & avoid repeating.

It doesn’t need to fill a dumpster though..
Use the “Buy Nothing“ page & donate.
Bless someone else if you don’t need what you have.

Over this weekend, we went out to West Virginia to spend time with Chelsea’s dad & brothers.

We shot guns at the range.
Rode 4 wheelers & bikes.
Ate. Laughed. Had fun.

I really got to relax & was reminded of what matters.

How you live is your choice 🤷🏻‍♂️

Coming from someone who might be talking to your kids about what to do with everything you ever had & try to navigate them through the emotions of it all..

I think it’s better to leave more than stuff behind ✌🏽

Introducing large Marge, the flatbed cart 🙌🏽

The red dolly twins are great but Marge is a much appreciated addition 👌🏽

Certain furniture has ornate & delicate trim along the bottom which means it can’t ride on the dollies or else damage could happen - which means we have always had to hand carry 🤷🏻‍♂️

But, thanks to Marge, those days are over..
At least at Heron Point where everything is either on smooth floors or pavement & we can actually use the cart 👍🏽

Here’s to way past due small upgrades 🥂😅

7:30 am - 11:30 am
Loaded truck

12:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Drove to Lumberton, NC for the night

• Day 2
4 am - Noon
Drove to Eustis

Noon - 2 pm
Unloaded 3/4 of the truck into single story house

2 pm - 3 pm
Drove to Leesburg

3 pm - 5 pm
Unloaded to 3rd floor apartment w/ elevator 🙌🏽

Next we found a hotel & dinner & rested 😮‍💨

• Day 3
4:30 am - 9 pm
I drove the whole way home

Happy to be able to help these folks out & get them where they needed to be ✌🏽

If the adorable puppy dog watery eyed bait snagged you & you’re reading this, the plan worked 😬

In an attempt to satisfy the huge black hole in Merp’s tiny belly.. instead of more food, we agreed to try asking all of our friends out there to take a minute & invite their friends to follow the Blue Truck adventures as well ✌🏽

She thinks over 2500 followers in 5 or so years is absolutely wild for a small town junk removal + moving company.
Especially one that started with a pickup truck that has a homemade box on the back 😅

+ having 100, all positive reviews..
Blows her little mind. Mine too 🤯

I’m always grateful to all of you for the support you’ve shown to get this thing where it is today.

We’re never short of hard things to do & we stay in the best + most painful shape of our lives because of it 😆

Merp & I were curious.. if 2500 followers did invite their friends to follow & only a portion of them followed, what could the numbers end up being?

I’m not going to shave off my beard or tattoo my face for a certain amount of likes (may do that all for nothing anyway 😝)
But I would be extremely thankful to anyone that does do me this favor 🙏🏽
