From US National Weather Service: This year's statewide Tornado Drill in SC will be held on Wednesday, March 11th, at 9am. Every school, business, and residence is encouraged to participate in this drill. Before 9 AM on Wednesday, March 11th, take a few moments to review your severe weather safety plan and know the location of your safe room. A safe room is generally a center room without windows and having shelves and bookcases secured to the wall. Also, please test your NOAA weather radio by pressing the Weather/Snooze bar in the center of the radio. If you get a clear voice signal, it is functioning properly. If you receive only static, try moving the radio to another location until you get a clear voice signal.

HEADS UP! 🌒 The moon will turn RED next Tuesday morning on March 3rd across the United States from a Total Lunar Eclipse! The times below are the best viewing opportunities per time zone (weather permitting). For the East Coast, there will even be a rare "Selenelion"...which is when both the sun and the eclipsed moon are visible simultaneously above the horizon just before sunrise!

Beginning next week, Norfolk Southern will be conducting rail maintenance work at various crossings in Rock Hill. 🚂⛔🛤️

Each intersection will take approximately a day to complete, with detours in place. Please proceed with caution and give crews space to complete the work.

On Wednesday, February 25, at 9 AM, the NB section of Ebenezer Rd will be closed at the intersection of Herlong Ave for asphalt repairs. A detour will be in place for Dr. Frank Gaston Blvd.

Please proceed with caution in the area and find an alternate route, if possible.

SCDOT to close and detour a portion of Edgeland Road in Chester County for Improvements

Columbia, S.C. (February 23, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will close and detour a portion of Edgeland Road for roadway improvements starting March 1.
The project will involve increasing sight distance by lowering a hill on the road and the construction of a turn lane onto SC 9. The closure is expected to last for 10 months.
As part of this closure a detour route has been set up. A map of the detour can be found below. Please note that Edgeland Road will be open to local traffic only.
SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the area.
