CARTA is the public transit system in Hamilton County and in the city of Chattanooga, TN and has been committed to providing safe, dependable and efficient transportation service to our community for almost 40 years. CARTA also operates the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway, the Downtown Electric Shuttle system, and the CARTA Care-a-van. We also manage the parking system in downtown Chattanooga to include 3 parking garages, on street metered parking and parking lots.

Dolly's heart for our community rides right alongside us. Her Imagination Library bus wrap has carried her message of literacy and hope through the streets of Chattanooga, putting books into the hands of children who might not otherwise have them.

Only 26 days left! The Parking Amnesty Program through the Chattanooga Parking Authority offers several ways to reduce your outstanding parking balance:

- 25% OFF when you pay your full balance by August 31
- 10% OFF when you enroll in a 6-month payment plan by August 31

AND

- 90% OFF for those who qualify for hardship assistance and up to 12 months to pay with an extended payment plan
- Food for Fines: Every $1 donated to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank earns a $2 credit toward your balance, up to 25% of your total balance, through September 30.
