This past week, Alan Turner - father of our owner, Neil Turner - passed away after a courageous two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. Neil and his father were incredibly close, and our deepest thoughts and prayers are with the Turner family during this difficult time.
Beyond being Neil's father, Alan shares a deeply special connection to the heart of River City Moving. Growing up, Neil and his dad spent countless hours birdwatching together. They fed the birds year-round, cultivating a regular flock that visited their yard even in the dead of winter. Years later, when choosing a mascot for RCM, Neil was inspired by his father's lifelong passion for birds—especially the Mockingbird. By enshrining the Mockingbird as our company emblem, Neil proudly followed in the footsteps of the great State of Tennessee and The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, making his father's passion a permanent part of our legacy.
To our valued community, we apologize if you have experienced a delay in reaching us over the past three days. Our office is currently running at limited capacity due to pre-scheduled time off and, more importantly, the recent passing of our owner's father. We are deeply grateful for your patience and understanding as our leadership team takes this necessary time to be with family. We will be back at full capacity on Monday. Thank you again for your incredible support during this time.
