I promise I counted to 90 before I did this!
As many of you know we have moved across the street. I decided to liquidate some of our stock in the floating goat. I made post in regards to the Boats and paddled and vest for sale.
Well, I want to say a very, very, very heartfelt special thanks to you jackasses, who took it upon yourself to steal some of our boats paddles & vest! Obviously, you do not know who we are because if you need it, we would probably would’ve gave them to you.
The money that was gonna be collected from the sell was going to be donated.
That being said may your boat, start leaking , may your paddles snap. May your vest save you and you have to float with cooter turtles nipping at your toes.
For 12 years we have been on this river. We started the first kayak rental business. It was in July 2012 and the coffee shop opened in December 2012.
During that entire period, we have had one boat taken. It was recovered by the fire department upstream a couple weeks later. There’s numerous people that would comment on here of how many times I’ve allowed our boats paddles & vest to be used for free.
So whoever you are, it goes without saying you don’t belong around here. Thats not how we paddle in Cramerton.
Also, everyone, I will be doing a post in regards to the future of “The floating goat “ it has been a staple in this community even the town logo is a spin off of our namesake. We will keep this business going. My plan is to turn it into free boat rental for a small donation.
Stay tuned!

July 2012 one of the hottest July’s on record- we were in the hundred’s several days. If you look real closely that big oak tree is where I hit my knees in the middle of 100° in a three day drunk and God gave me the vision to create Floyd & Blackies. that was my hiding spot so I didn’t have to do any work.

Hey good afternoon everyone it's that time of year again. The River has settled back down and many of you are starting to come out and go kayaking and we are excited about that. However I want to go over a couple things. Unfortunately we had to have some conversations with some folks who are going behind the coffee shop. And trying to put Boats in on our property off the river bank. This is not allowed. First of all it puts our businesses in a precarious situation if their would be an accident.
So we ask that you not do use this area to launch boats. This area is for seating we have our picnic tables back their, chairs and a nice grassy area. Once the COVID-19 restrictions are eased up we look forward to all of you enjoying it.
We will be monitoring this area and stopping any boat launches, but at the same time we will give you directions to the launch areas.
The other problem we are having is parking. Our parking lot is small and we also share it with the church next-door. So we need as many spaces open for the church and our customers at the coffee shop. Many of you are coming back here and parking. Putting in boats and going over to the park and staying for hours and taking up the spaces. We ask that any long term parking ( 1 hour or more) to us the public parking spaces.
Eric our park and rec director has been working really hard on providing you with the information needed to make your day enjoyable here in town. The town is also working on adding more parking and entrances to help with this as well .
( Please see the attached )
You are also welcome to come in to the coffee shop and ask us for directions or about anything related to the trails , the park & the Greenway's, parking etc.
We welcome all of you and want you to be a part of this community. We want you to patronize us and all of our businesses The experience here in Cramerton is unique
Actually it's really awesome...We are blessed!
Let's all work together so all of us can have a good time.
Welcome to Cramerton !
Welcome to the Floyd & Blackies family !
Thank you,
Greg & Kathy Ramsey

Attention kayakers and park goers
Please check out the link below
We fully support this. The outdoor activities here have been a blessing to our business.
The last thing that Kathy and I wanted to do was post signs threatening to tow people for parking in our lot. So we have had conversations with our town leaders & the recreation department to help us and help you with outdoor activity information and parking.
We are very thankful that our ideas and thoughts were listened to and considered for this site. Our coffee shop & Kayak business has been part of this community for eight years. There was a time early on when Kathy and I would beg you to park in our parking lot. However times have changed due to growth and the wonderful opportunity that our Town provides with the parks the greenways & the kayak accesses on our South Fork River. Cramerton is now known as a kayaking community. Our parking lot had begun to be overtaken on the weekends.
This was becoming a deterrent to our regular customer base trying to patronize the coffee shop. So being able to find a balance that works for everyone is essential to the well being and enjoyment of our community.
We fully embrace this and we look forward to seeing all of you very soon.

With temperatures reaching into the high 70s and possibly even 80s this week, it’s about that time to start hitting the water. With dozens of lakes, rivers, and man-made canals, our region is one of the best areas in the south to float on the water. Whether you’re a kayaker, paddleboarder, or ca...
