Three years ago today we broke ground on CLT's future Fourth Parallel Runway. The 10,000-foot runway, along with added taxiways and End-Around Taxiways, is designed to improve efficiency and reduce runway crossings.

Commissioning is scheduled for 2027.

The impact of the CLT Runway 5K goes far beyond race day. Since 2019, the event has raised more than $317,000 for scholarships!

Now, that impact will continue for years to come through the new Charlotte Douglas International Airport Scholarship Fund at Central Piedmont Community College, helping students pursue careers in aviation.

Ten years ago today, the FAA broke ground on CLT's current Air Traffic Control Tower and Terminal Radar Approach Control building.

The 370-foot-tall air traffic control tower has an 850-square-foot tower cab that provides air traffic controllers a bird’s-eye view of the airfield. Completed in 2019, the CLT ATC Tower oversees nearly 1,600 daily arrivals and departures.

Tomorrow, CLT Risk, Safety & Health, alongside the American Heart Association and MEDIC, will host a drop-in Hands-Only CPR and AED awareness activities and demonstrations from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Atrium balcony.

This event is open to all travelers and CLT employees. Just stop by, learn the basics and get familiar with skills that make a real difference.
