Odyssey Logistics has been named to the Charlotte Business Journal’s 2026 list of Largest Charlotte-Area Private Companies.

Our place on the list reflects the work of teams across our offices, warehouses, fleets, and operations. Thank you to everyone who supports our customers and helps make Odyssey what it is today.

We’re proud to call Charlotte home and look forward to building on this progress for the customers and supply chains we serve.

For more than 20 years, Ian Reid has built his career in an industry where relationships tend to last.

Ian joined Odyssey in New Jersey and moved to Charlotte more than a decade ago, growing with the business and building strong relationships within the tight-knit bulk chemical industry along the way.

Charlotte has become home for Ian and his family, where life outside of work revolves around his twin girls and their goldendoodle.

That focus on relationships has been a constant throughout Ian’s career and reflects one of our core values, Win Together.

We’re glad to have Ian as part of the Odyssey team and look forward to what’s ahead.

Strong relationships are essential to the chemicals industry, and the Women in Chemicals Conference created opportunities to strengthen those.

Mercedes Langston and Jacqueline Valdes represented Odyssey Logistics in Miami Beach, connecting with professionals from Momentive, Brenntag, Braskem, and others.

Thank you to everyone who spent time with our team and for your contributions to strengthening this community.

See you next year.

Shippers have more supply chain data available than ever.

So why don’t decisions feel any easier?

Because fragmented systems, delayed reporting cycles, and numbers stripped of context can mean even good data can arrive too late to matter. Odyssey Logistics calls the fix integrated intelligence: connecting operational data, your own business context, purpose-built AI, and human expertise into one complete, up-to-date picture.

A booked load isn't always a covered load.

Carrier fraud, compliance issues, or an unexpected roadside enforcement action can all disrupt a shipment after capacity has already been confirmed.

Join Mike Beckwith, CTB, VP of Operations at Odyssey Logistics, and Inbound Logistics on Wednesday, October 21 at 1:00 PM EDT for a conversation on what can put booked capacity at risk and how shippers can prepare when coverage falls through.

If you're responsible for keeping freight moving when plans change, this is a conversation worth joining.

For Tim O'Connell, good leadership begins with knowing people well.

Throughout his time at Odyssey, Tim has taken the time to understand what success means to the people around him, what motivates them, and what support will help them do their best work. Then, he backs those relationships with the data and resources needed to move forward together.

He calls it being "relationship-driven but data-backed," and we think it's a prime example of living out one of our core values: Win Together.

We're proud to put the spotlight on Tim and the trust he builds across Odyssey.

Rising scrutiny at the driver level could mean less capacity in the market.

On a recent episode of On The Move - found on Sirius' Road Dog station - Mike Beckwith joined host Dan Ronan to discuss how increased enforcement around English-language proficiency and non-domiciled CDLs is changing the expectations placed on carriers and brokers.

Mike breaks down why driver-level due diligence is moving upstream, how even compliant carriers could get caught up in tighter requirements, and why continued capacity loss may keep pressure on rates.

Do you know where cybersecurity exposure may be hiding across your supply chain?

Shipments rely on far more than the providers a shipper works with directly. Carriers, platforms, and vendors often depend on additional systems and partners of their own.

Each connection adds another place where uneven security practices could create exposure. And when one of those connections is disrupted, the impact can reach freight movement and day-to-day operations.

Odyssey takes a structured approach to understanding those dependencies and managing cybersecurity risk across its network.

Swipe to see three common gaps shippers should know about and learn more about how to address them in Michael Irwin's most recent blog. >>> https://bit.ly/4y4LrhG

How well do you know the systems and partners servicing your freight?

Every shipment today moves through an increasingly complex web of carriers, platforms and vendors, making each new connection a potential point of cybersecurity exposure.

Michael Irwin shares how shippers can take stock of their most critical dependencies and better anticipate how a cyber incident could affect their operations.

"The most resilient supply chains are often defined by having options and having very strong partnerships."

That's Ian Reid, Odyssey's VP of bulk transportation in our Managed Services division, on Bulk Transporter's Quick Chat with Jason McDaniel recently. His advice? Stay mode-agnostic (road, intermodal, rail) and build partnerships worth growing with.
