Getting close to wrapping up this Hunter 33 that grounded into some rocks pretty hard. New rudder. Recreated keel fairing. Repaired keel/hull joint. New bearing epoxied in (origins shaft was composite). New is stainless.

As other work opportunities grow - I have got to scale back marine service commitments.

I have 50 boats in cue for various repairs and maintenance.

Yeah- “let’s be a charter captain and scale back on boat work. Rather sail than get hot, dirty, crawl into tight places”. Well- there was some play in the helm while sailing in 20kts yesterday, so I dug in this morning to make sure we are safe for today. We are safe, but boat kit lacks a 16mm wrench. 🤦

Pulled this one out yesterday to inspect after a grounding. Anchor didn’t hold. Rudder lost the battle with some rocks. This happened a while ago too- so the foam core is saturated. Insurance has been contacted. It will be safer for the owner and boat to have a new rudder. Stay tuned.

This boat came in with a hole and some serious stress cracks. The hole was addressed from the inside. Both centerboard trunk filets got reworked with a little carbon on the worst spots, glass, faired and gelcoated. The outside got some thickened epoxy, and Gelcoat reapplied. Couldn’t let the owner leave here with a few new shiny spots- so the entire hull got old gel repairs and dings addressed, sanded and polished.
