Okay Carnival… when did THIS happen? 👀😂

I just noticed my online check-in is showing 8 days before boarding instead of the usual 14 days.

And unless I completely missed something, I haven’t seen a press release, an announcement from John Heald, or anything officially explaining the change.

So… is this connected to the new Carnival Rewards program, or did Carnival quietly change the check-in window?

I’m honestly cool with it — but give a guy a heads up! 😂

🚨 Carnival cruisers, check this out!

Carnival’s websites and app are STILL down for maintenance — including Carnival.com, GoCCL, and the Carnival HUB app. The expected return is noon today, so hopefully they’re back up soon!

But the big thing to remember is the Carnival Rewards opt-in deadline is still Monday night. ⏰

If you haven’t opted in yet, don’t wait! Once the sites are back, make sure you get registered.

⚠️ And yes, this matters — if you don’t opt in, you could lose your current loyalty status.

Early boarding or sleep-in-and-stroll-on?

I already know where I stand. 😂

I’m getting to that cruise terminal EARLY. I want to get on the ship, grab some food, walk around, check things out and start vacation mode ASAP.

I know there are people who would rather sleep a little longer, get dropped off later and basically walk straight onto the ship.

And honestly… I respect it.

But where’s the fun in that?! 😂

Let’s talk about the cruise port food stops that become part of the vacation! 🚢🍴 You know the places I mean—the ones you think about every time you think about cruising.

For me, both of my Miami favorites are on Calle 8: Sanguich and Azucar! 🇨🇺🔥

🥪 Sanguich has THE best Cuban sandwiches I’ve ever had. And don’t skip the jamón croquetas—dip those bad boys in the garlic sauce! 🤤

🍦 Then there’s Azucar… honestly, some of the best ice cream in the country and somehow still a hidden gem. And it’s affordable! My order: one scoop Café con Leche ☕️ + one scoop Abuela Maria 🍪. And that guava drizzle?! 🔥

These are the kinds of food stops that become part of the cruise tradition.

Kids Have a Dress Code Too?! 🥩👔

Carnival’s steakhouse is one of those spots where the food feels a little more elevated… but what about the dress code?

If you’re bringing kids or teens, Carnival has a suggested dress code for them too. 👀

Does that mean they need to look like they’re heading to a wedding? Absolutely not. 😂 But if you’re dining at the steakhouse, a little effort is encouraged.

Carnival is making a change that’s going to split cruisers right down the middle 👀

On shorter sailings, Formal Night is being replaced with White Night 🤍

And honestly? Some people are going to LOVE this… while others will be like, “Wait… where’s the dress-up night?!” 😅

But is it really a deal breaker? For most cruisers… probably not.

Would this change make you reconsider booking a short Carnival cruise? Or have you already moved on from Formal Night anyway? 😂
