The St. Bernard Port has released its annual report for 2025, themed "Impact through Innovation."

The St. Bernard Port, Harbor and Terminal District has released its annual report for 2025, a report that highlights the accomplishments and progress the port has made.

The report’s theme, Impact through Innovation, touches on the various changes in the maritime industry and the port's ability to evolve while preserving its economic interest in St. Bernard Parish.

“With this annual report, the goal was to show the importance of the port’s role in the ever-changing economic climate, while highlighting our role in things that are personally important to us, such as community events and volunteering.” Said Lauren Maupin, Director of Public Relations. The report features various community events the port participated in, such as Give-a-Hoot trivia night by the Family Violence Program of St. Bernard, to youth outreach programs such as We Work the Waterways events at Chalmette High School.

The biggest highlight of the report is the full rehabilitation of sections A and F of the Chalmette Slip, making the 108-year-old slip fully operational for the first time in 40 years. With this rehabilitation, cargo handling capabilities will be enhanced while ensuring safety for boats and employees. “We are proud to share the accomplishments and progress made by the St. Bernard Port over the years, and especially our commitment to the community.” Drew Heaphy, Executive Director of the St. Bernard Port, said.

With these innovations and more in the future, the St. Bernard Port looks forward to creating more jobs and opportunities for the residents of St. Bernard Parish. You can view current and past annual reports on our website, https://www.stbernardport.com/our-history

Physical copies will be available in select newspapers across the parish or at the administrative office. Check it out!
