🏀💙 Tonight, Route Unwritten was written for Shianne.

Not every adventure involves the RV, and Shianne isn’t always our biggest fan of hitting the road. But tonight was all about her.

Once upon a time, we were loyal Orlando Magic season ticket holders for five seasons, and one of Shianne’s Christmas presents this year was a chance to get back to a game and hopefully recreate a special memory — another photo with Nikola Vučević (her favorite player in the NBA), now that he’s back with the Magic.

He didn’t play tonight, but she got her photo! 🙌

Throw in some incredible seats, great food in the Gallagher Club, a big Magic win, and some quality father-daughter time, and I’d say we knocked this Christmas present out of the park.

Sometimes the best adventures are the ones closest to home. 💙

Mr. and Mrs. Unwritten got an anniversary weekend away thanks to Grandma Tina. Last night, we ventured down to Scream-A-Geddon: Florida's Premier Horror Park for some haunted houses and zombie paintball. Such an amazing time. I personally think this is better than the theme parks, for less money. And a lot less walking!

We love finding local gems when we're exploring, and this Orlando spot definitely delivered!

📍 **Pigzaa – Orlando, Florida** (Pig Floyd's Urban Barbakoa)

From the mental genius behind Pig Floyd's Urban Barbakoa, Pigzza combines BBQ, pizza, and some seriously creative flavors.

We tried the pork sandwiches, street corn fries, butter chicken tacos, and pork belly tacos. Not a single disappointment, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable!

If you're visiting Orlando, skip the chains for a meal and give this local spot a try.

Yep. A whole moose antler.

Our dogs loved the smaller antlers we got from Allagash Antlers, so naturally… we escalated.

You might hate this take, but I shouldn’t have to pay extra to keep the campsite I already picked. 🤷‍♂️

I’m not a fan of site-lock fees.

Booking a specific site with waterfront views, a private patio, or extra amenities? I understand paying more for what that spot offers.

But choosing a regular campsite and then paying another fee just so they won’t move me? That feels like paying twice.

If choosing my site doesn’t mean I get that site, why let me choose it?

Am I being cheap, or do you feel the same? Would you pay to lock your site? 🚐

Florida camping season is finally starting to feel like Florida camping season again.

We almost forgot what it was like to sit outside without melting. 😂

We spent the weekend at Resort at Canopy Oaks and literally had about 90% of the resort to ourselves. The weather was about perfect, fall was definitely starting to show up, and our site backed right up to the water with its own tiki and fire pit. This site has us contemplating buying our first “home base.” We’ve been here at least seven times now!

Saturday night Grandma and Aunt April drove over for dinner, we cooked outside, lit the fire and caught one of those sunsets that makes you wish the weekend would slow down a little.

And then that moon showed up. 🌕

Canopy Oaks is HUGE — lakes, pools, massive sites and plenty to do — but this weekend it was ridiculously peaceful.

Wait… THIS is a Florida beach?!

We’ve lived in Florida for years, and somehow we had no idea this was here.

No white sand. No rows of umbrellas. Instead, there are massive rock formations, little caves and waves crashing through the rocks — and it honestly feels like somewhere other than Florida.

This is Blowing Rocks Preserve in Jupiter, and it may be one of the strangest stretches of coastline we’ve explored in the state.

The kids climbed around the rocks, ducked underneath the overhangs and waited for the waves to come crashing in. And yes… somebody got soaked. 😂

Florida still manages to surprise us.
